Default Won't Start

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to get your thoughts on this. I have a 2005 Crossfire Roadster, 40 k and in overall great shape. The car was sitting for 2 months and here is what I am dealing with:
  • Car has a new battery that is fully charged
  • Car took a few tries to start, did not try to turn over on the first few, then started
  • As I drove at low speeds down my street, seemed like the car did not want to shift into second. Kinda like when you have the gear selector in the wrong spot
  • I stopped the car to confirm the shifter was correct, placed into park
  • Once in park the shifter locked into park
  • I turned the car off with the hope of resetting, and..
  • The car refused to start, even try to turn over. I get dash lights and beeping for key.
  • I don't recall any serious dash lights, one for brake wear was lite.
  • I had the car towed to my home
Any thoughts on the issue, also, I live in Fort Lauderdale, any thoughts on someone to take it to?

Thanks!

Jody

Normaly if the ignition switch is on it unlocked the P. All the errors you tell could be if the ignition switch is bad or if there is no power or ground connection to it. But your error that ist don't shift up could also be a problem with the shifter.
But as it is easier measure first if the ignition switch gives the right power in all positions.

The battery or ground connection would be my suspects. Why did you need to charge the battery? Being "NEW" does not mean it is good.

Thanks everyone for your help! Great information

I am thinking of replacing the Relay Control Unit as a first step, appears that I could do that myself.

I will definitely reach out the Mat.

Might be a bad traction control relay. Open the RCM and check that the 2 relays shown remain closed with the key in the ON position. Are they?

Hey There! Thanks so much, Matt saved the day. He came up on Friday night to my place for a house call! Got it up and running! Love his passion for the car. I will be using him all the time.

I really can't thank you enough

Jody

She reported in yet another thread that it was the RCM.
She posted in at least three places on the forum. Not helpful but many newcomers here make this mistake.
