I'd check all the tire pressures, have the oil changed, bleed the brakes, get a frame alignment done, replace all the light bulbs and change the drive belt.

If that doesn't fix it, replace the battery.

Tried the battery route.....no difference at all.....still dead, usual dashboard lights come on but engine won’t turn over.
Is it worth me check the RCM for dry joints next?

Did all those, and even polished the gearstick.....no change

Check you neg cable (earth) for corrosion where is connects to the body.

So you changed the battery and it got worse?

Try to keep in mind that we are not standing next to your car, all we have to go on is what you type.

And the jumper from block to chassis...
One way to eliminate the block-to-chassis jumper from being a problem, is to go around it, like James and I did:

Changed the battery and no real difference
checked the earth and made sure was a good contact.
Managed to get a replacement RCM.....that fixed it. Just to check wasn’t a fluke, popped old one back in....dead.....so looks like RCM was the culprit.

Thanks for all the support and advice as always.
