Default 2006 Crossfire Dead

Hello everyone- I’m trying to troubleshoot what is causing our 2006 Crossfire to not start. We purchased the car about two years ago with around 65k miles. The car was not used very often, just for short trips around town.

The first issue we had with the car was the battery dying- we replaced it and have had no issues there since. Around a month or two later, the doors would not lock or unlock with the key or switches inside. We took it to a repair shop and they needed to replace the door lock actuators as they had been corroded. A few months following that, the car refused to start up. All lights and electrical work in the car, but the engine will not turn over. The engine fan turns on, but it won’t start. We attempted to clean the SKREEM module, and replaced the alternator hoping that would work but unfortunately it did not. We had a mobile repair company come out to see if they could diagnose the car, and they diagnosed it with a faulty PCM. We called every dealership in the area as well as some repair shops but no one was able to fix it, so we sent the PCM to Flagship One. They tested the PCM, and told us that the issue was not electrical so they would not need to recode it.

The only aftermarket part that I am aware of is the radio.

We are at a loss at this point with how to proceed- so any help is greatly appreciated! We are really trying to get the car off our hands at this point but we’re hoping to fix it before so we do not lose as much money on it. I have spend hours researching to see if I could find a solution to no avail- so this is a last ditch effort! The car has been sitting in our garage for the past year over my husbands deployment and we are hoping to solve this before we PCS.

The codes that came up when the mobile repair service came out are below- 1022, 1038, and 1175.

I greatly appreciate any and all help with this!

So you had a bad RCM that was causing the no-start and some asshat company screwed up a perfectly good ECU/PCM.
This was an easy fix, had you come to this forum first. You might talk to Josh at the MSS, if he can't help you, it would make a good parts car.

Call this place and ask for Josh:
https://themercedesswapshop.com/
Do what he tells you and do not second guess him, he is THE MAN for this. He and Rob at Needswings are the two top-tier vendors for our cars.

Hello all I'm a little confused. Did the OP fix the RCM? Was that the fix? Did he redo the solder joints? it looks as if the asshat company didn't recode the PCM so did they screw it up? Looks as if the guy just joined and this was his only post. So maybe cut the guy some slack. And yes call josh. I have spoken with him and he knows his ****. Just curious as to how you attempted to clean the skreem?

It sounds like the RCM was ignored and *someone* tore into the ECU/PCM. Or they TOLD this person that they did - it is impossible to know, based on the OP, exactly what has happened -but the description of no crank/fast fan tells us the ECR output of the RCM is bad.

Nothin' new here, we've seen this a zillion times before.....

Thank you for the help, it's really appreciated! I reached out to Josh and he referred me to DJ for the RCM. Hopefully we'll be able to get this sorted and the car back up and running ASAP.

Sorry for the lack of clarity in my original post, I don't know too much about cars yet (quite obviously), so this has been a journey of stupid trial and lots of error. We're on track to get the RCM fixed now. The company only tested the PCM, and didn't find any issues with it, so it's headed back to us with no recoding done. We just used some contact cleaner on the SKREEM (again, not a knowledgeable car person, so just was using Youtube videos for tips)...
