Central locking vacuum pump not working with key
Forgive me if this exact problem is discussed elsewhere.
Both FOB keys now won’t lock or unlock the doors. The car lights flash like they used to but there's no noise or results. When I start to drive, the doors and rear hatch lock themselves as they should and when I stop and open either door, they all unlock. I removed the passenger side trunk panels and all looks clean and new where the little hoses travel and no apparent water damage. I'm about to buy a used (with warranty) vacuum pump and do a swap. Should I just go for it, or is there another potential problem? Coincidentally, this problem started when I had the rear shocks repaired.
Thanks!
John

I just changed the battery in one of the FOBs, but I don't know how long I had those spare batteries.
Is it possible that the battery in the FOB is strong enough to cause the lights to flash on the Crossfire when I press the key but not strong enough to trigger the door locks?
Thanks,
John

Yes, I replaced both batteries and can see the light flash inside the key when I press it. I'm going to inspect the harness connections on the vacuum pump and try spraying some contact cleaner in there this weekend. If that doesn't do it, I don't know what to do except buy a new/used vacuum pump and swap it in. I've had the Crossfire coupe for over 10 years.
Thanks,
Thanks,
