Default Dim Low Beam, Left Side

The left low beam on my '06 Roadster has been very dim and doesn't illuminate the road very well. After trying 3 new H7 bulbs, checking the voltage, and brainstorming the issue I've found that the backside of the lens, which should be clear, is milky and opaque. My other lenses are clear but with a few small clear-ish spots on the backside of the lenses. Does anyone know of a way to clean the backside (interior) of the lens itself, just in front of the bulb? Can the bulb be removed and then just use something with a handle with wipes on the end to stick in there and try to wipe the inside of the lens, or is there a standard procedure to clean the lens? Just in case, I found a complete '04 headlamp assembly on Ebay which I purchased and have as a spare, but I'm hoping not to have to resort to replacing the entire assembly which, the spare being an '04, is slightly different on the back side of the assembly. It should still fit just fine and all tabs are good as are the lenses, but I'd rather be able to clean the original lenses.

I would replace it with the newer one and inspect the damaged one at my leisure. Never seen this problem before on here.

I've always believed a reflective 'chrome' type coating was applied to the plastic surface. IF it is, in my opinion, a resurface (if possible) would be the only way to restore the proper aim of the light. Good luck!
