So my passenger side turn signal/parking light operates normally with the light switch turned on, as well as when the turn signal is on, but when I use my key fob to lock or unlock, the drivers side light will flash but the passenger side won't... Any ideas as to the cause?
Moderator Note: This thread is made a "sticky" because its a rare issue that involves a hard to find part. I was shocked when I managed to find new relays. Please read thru the thread at least to post 16 to understand what Im' getting at. Post 16 has a link to the relay if you need one. It was HARD to find but it IS available, not locally but still....

I'm just throwing out guesses here... Do you have a second key fob, if so have you tried it with that? Do you get the same result? Have you tried checking the wiring to the bulbs, or the fuses related to those bulbs?
Sometimes when the two NiMH batteries in the alarm/siren start to leak and corrode due to age, the acid can cause havoc on the board with all the electronics on it. When this has happened all types of malfunctions occur with the lights flashing or not flashing or sometimes the audible alarm goes off at random.
Any ground issues? There is a ground wire from the battery to the fender and another near the steering stabilizer. That bolts to the frame and transmission. Check to see if they're very corroded or loose. Since that relates to the cars security, maybe it's something with CLPS or SKREEM?
I'll be working on my car later. I'll try my fob just for the heck of it and follow my wiring to see if any ideas come to mind. I'm not great with wiring, but maybe I'll get an idea. @pizzaguy or @tighed1 are great with electronics. Maybe they will see this thread and jump in.
By the way what car do you have? Mine is a 2006 base roadster with a manual transmission. Any info helps.
It's an '05 Limited automatic.
I'll double check the grounds, but I have also added a ground from the bell housing to the negative terminal also and that still hasn't changed anything.
If NEITHER the front or rear turn signal on the one side of the car blinks on SKREEM activation, I'd suspect the remote keyless entry relay. It is clear the SKREEM is doing its' job as is your key FOB.
Most likely cause: The relay is not outputting power to the right side signal lamps.
Yank the relay out, and reinsert it, maybe the contacts are just corroded. If that does not do it, find a new relay.
It could be a bad connection at S217 or SKREEM pin 5, but I seriously doubt that - relays are mechanical devices and they DO fail.
That is NOT a standard 30 amp automotive relay, do not just order a generic relay. A standard relay is a SPST:
You want a DPST:
Notice that the usual relay has an "87a" terminal, but a DPST relay has an "87b" terminal. These relays are not hard to find, they are damn near IMPOSSIBLE to find. Find a parts car if you need one.

THanks for the tag, Im not here a lot right now, kinda burnt out, answering the same questions over and over for thirteen years.
But THIS is a NEW one!
Thank you for the advice my good man... Glad to pose a new question and help get the brain juices flowing.... I got plenty more too lol.... this car is definitely putting me through the ringer

I didn't want to bother you or tighed1, but I thought this was a weird problem. Thank you for replying.
Good news, I fixed it! It was the relay that was the problem, and I repaired it without having to locate a replacement. I cleaned the contacts on the relay socket and gave the relay a few taps and nothing changed.
I then took the relay out and removed the cover and sprayed it with electric contact cleaner and replaced it, it worked 1 time only. I removed it again and took the cover off again and did a thorough inspection. I noticed that the flat piece that hinges and has the 2 contacts at the top were not on the same plane, so the one for the drivers side would close and light up, the contact for the passenger side was bent just enough to keep it from making contact, so a little bending with a small metal pick and my finger made it even with the other side and now it operates flawlessly!
Thanks guys for your help and insight
Merry Christmas!

I knew that pizzaguy would figure out where the trouble was coming from.
That's great that you got it to work again! Especially since you were able to do it without even replacing it.

WRONG! I found the exact relay for $15 !!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! This says "turn signal relay", it is NOT the turn signal relay, it is the relay used by the SKREEM to flash all four turn signals.
Hi, I am French and own a 2005 Chrysler roadster. I have only recently registered on your forum. I'm having a problem finding a turn signal relay. My relay is a TYCO DPST (ref 002 542 21 19) therefore with an 87b pin I found BOSCH 0986 AH0 135 relays on the internet as in your message but they are SPST with an 87a pin. Can I replace the DPST with a SPST? My apologies for my ignorance. Sincerely,

No, the differences are apparent in post 10 and afterwards.
