Default Glove Box Light Problem

Hi, I have searched but nothing that I can find on this. The glove box light does not come on when box opened. I have checked fuse 31 and the cigarette lighter works. I have replaced the light fixture and put in new bulb, still nothing. Anyone come across this or can provide intel. Thanks, Vinnytheb5

Have you checked for power at the light?

On my 2005 Roadster the key switch must be in the ON position or the motor running for the Glove Box light to work ...

Sorry guys, I never thought that you would have to have the key on or engine running for the light to work. Geez!!

Take our word for it, many things about the car do not make sense.

Like.... the HORN is on the key as well. Even my motorcycle has the horn on battery.

Does the “me so horny” fix resolve this?

Horn fix only fixes the horn so that it will honk without the key in the ignition. It will not make the glove box light work with the key off.

The good thing is, if the light doesn't go out it will not kill the battery. The bad thing is, you have to turn the ignition on to have it light.
