NO crank / SKREEM / and bypass
I Just purchased this car last night 2004 Crossfire

I am sure you all have seen this question numerous times. I bought the car in a no start condition last night. Only part I don’t like is that the guy has done a bypass that worked for a while but now has failed. I can describe the condition if needed but ultimately. If I put the fuses in OEM condition, I have absolutely no crank situation. If I hook up his bypass It will crank, and we have spark but no fuel pressure. (I dumped some fuel in the intake and kicks off, and engine sounds smooth, so I plan to fix it correctly)
I haven't made my way down to test the fuel pump yet but ordered one anyhow and replace pump and filter shortly.
I have seen the suggested services to rebuild PCM / SKREEM. as well as the key fob is shot and may also be part of the issue.
I like a few recommendations on what I need to Diagnose further or is it a no brainer and send the components to someone for programing and repair?
Thank you and enjoying the site!!
FYI
Future parts needed, due to a still drivable light front end damage
front bumper cover and grill
radiator and condenser and fan
Crossfire letters on the back
Thank you
Marc

If you have no fuel pressure, the issue is not the SKREEM.
Put a fuel pressure test gauge on the fuel rail, turn the key ON, and see if you have 58PSI. The RCM has a relay that feeds power to the fuel pump, it is triggered by the ECU, if the relay closes, you will (should) have battery power at the output of the RCM, if you do have power but no fuel pressure, replace the pump and filter/regulator.
If you want the SKREEM/ECU fixed the RIGHT way, contact James or Josh at The Mercedes Swap Shop. But beware, if the car has been modded as you say, their base price to have the SKREEM disable is going to to up, as you have unknown mods to the car, unless they can figure out what was done.

I didn't do any research yet, but I was guessing the SKREEM would shut down fuel as well. if not that's great news!
I just watched a video to check the RCM and excited to look at that as soon as I get home today. Fuel pump, regulator and filter should arrive tomorrow. Car has been sitting for a few months, and rail is dry no fuel pressure
The bypass he has set up is very simple. Just a few tabs with inline fuse for protection and he removed 2 fuses on the RCM and plugged the tabs into the fused side of the block. the new power source is from main fuse block, so it is very easy to unplug no cut wires to worry about. He said he got the hack off this site.
I looked up, Mercedes Swap Shop and SOS to compare pricing options.
I will install the new fuel parts and see where that gets me.

You can temporarily close the fuel relay in the RCM with a rubber band. If the relay is bad I can rebuild your RCM for a third of the price of a new RCM AND you'll get the Me So Horny mod thrown in for FREE!
Email tighed1@hotmail.com for the details. HUNDREDS have!

Replace the RCM. Under 200 bucks and you can do it yourself "plug and play" a 10-minute job. No telling what he did to the RCM.

Here's my post from when I replaced my fuel pump and filter. It has a lot of detailed pictures with descriptions: LINK - Fuel pump and filter replacement
If you go to the main page of that thread, there are links at the bottom for all of the maintenance that I've done on my car.
I hope that this is helpful.

When you turn the key to ON, the ECU pulls the fuel pump relay in and the pump runs for maybe three-five seconds.
IF The engine does not start, the ECU disables the fuel pump relay.
The SKREEM is not directly involved in this, if, for ANY reason, the engine does not start, the fuel pump is disabled as a safety item.
Now, since the pump ran for 3-5 seconds, there will be pressure on the fuel system as high as 50psi for some time. If there is not, then the pump did not run or something else is wrong, like a bad fuel pickup in the tank.
Here is another post on replacing the fuel pump and filter. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-canister.html
Quick update if you like to know my progress.
Couple items found
RCM has bad Fuel Pump and Air Pump Relay's, waiting on replacement.
Pulled Fuel Pump last night it was locked up tight and bad fuel in tank was sitting a lot longer than seller told me! FYI, I ordered the cheap replacement on amazon said it was for Crossfire / Mercedes (20$ for testing purposes) and unfortunately it has a small input pipe flange. My car has 3/4" pipe out of tank. So ordered the Bosch with correct sizes.
Excited to get these installed and see where we are now. Hope to make progress on Sunday.

Plan to get RCM rebuilt once I get her running. picked up cheep o on Ebay to get it going
Also plan to go with Josh at The Mercedes Swap Shop on the programing and repairs after interviewing MSS & others

QUICK UPDATE.
Fuel Pump / filter and good RCM finally showed up yesterday. installed Relay and Pump. I pulled out all the bypass wires and installed the correct fuses as well. Turned the key and heard the beautiful sound of a fuel pump even more exciting was the starter cranked too!!. Poured in 5 fresh gallons and boom car cranked over and started right up. Only light on is the BAS which I am hoping is because the wheels are off. I'll get her on the ground tonight and test drive. Excited the SKREEM is functioning properly (at the moment)
Good day..
Note I just picked this car up and was told the SKREEM was the issue.
