This is just preventative maintenance I'm doing over the winter. My car is about to hit 50,000 miles so I'm attending to things before they become an issue.
I had to break the post into 2 parts because there are more than 10 pictures.
NOTE: Here is a tip that was given to me buy a member on fakebook. I believe he is a member on here as well, but I'm not sure of his forum name.
Before disconnecting the battery, pull the number 5 fuse on the RCM and let the engine turn over 4 - 5 times. This will relieve the pressure in the system.
NOTE: The correct tool for removing the original fuel line clamps is called "Clip-R Pliers".
Remember; safety is the main priority!
This how I did the work on my own car. This is for reference only.
Here are the usual pictures with descriptions.

Svengoolie is singing out of key! February 3, 2025
This is no big deal for those that have done this before. This was my first time and I wanted to share the experience with others.
This is for those who may be thinking about swapping their old key fob for a new one and haven't done it before.
The brand of the new fob isn't important, it's pretty much the same for all of them.
I have a Pros and Cons chart about the brand that I used at the end of the post.
By the way, there is a less expensive version of the case I used available. Oh well, live and learn.
Safety and patience are the key to a good job and no injuries.

Great post again, John!
Just an FYI here, I found the red button (alarm button) in my old FOB (that rotted out), is just like the new button. The replacement FOB's red button pops out and pushes into the place where the rotted out one goes (make sure you remove the remnants of the old red button), then it just plugs in flush in your old case. Take the batteries out before you mess with it so you don't set off the alarm while switching the old with new red button.
UNDER BODY BRACES REMOVAL AND REPAIR. PART 1 of 2.
Svengoolie needs braces! No, not those kind!
This is just preventative maintenance I'm doing over the winter.
This time it's the under body braces. They look like crap and have some rust on them.
I've ordered new ones, but who knows if they will actually have them or not?
I'm refurbishing the originals just in case.

Since I have the braces out, I thought that I would take care of some minor rust.

AIR FILTER REPLACEMENT.
Svengoolie is breathing easier!.
I made this post for new owners or people who are just learning how to work on their cars.
This is an easy job to do, and you only need a couple of tools to do it.

That is the purpose of this thread - It compiles all the work with pictures and details - Its all right here in this thread
Valk,
Understood but it would be nice to have it indexed where you can refer to a specific process or repair without going through the thread. His work is quite extensive.
