Svengoolie hangs out with a cool SRT6 Roadster! October 13, 2024
Sunday was a great day, I went up to Newton, which is about an hour from where I live. There was a great car show and the street next to it was closed and had lots of vendors and activities.
Great crafts, wood carvings, signs, food, and activities for kids.
I met Dennis and Joan who had their beautiful 2005 SRT6 Roadster in the show, very nice people.
Here are some pics from the show:
My 2006 Base Roadster (left). Dennis's 2005 Roadster SRT6 (right). The Ford was a 1924 making the car 100 years old this year! This Chevy 5 window was the event winner.
Today I put custom made slasher stripes on my car. Annette at Annete's Lasting Impressions did a fantastic job! Thank you Annette!
She took the time and effort to make the stripes exactly the way I wanted them and for a great price!
The stripes are subtle but I think they make the car standout a little more.
Wow. Svengoolie is in very good shape! Decals look super flush and adequate for the body colour. Well done! Do you have exact measurements? Will Annette have them? Did you disassemble any parts to stick the decals to the body? Any special lacquer/coating on top?

Excuse the bombardment😅
Thanks!
Annette can make almost anything for our cars as far as decals, badges etc... Previously she did an underwing decal for me.
She had to cut out each individual checker and put them onto a backing. But they are awesome! She has a coating over them to protect them.
Annette has made a bunch of these slashers and they fit perfect. Very good turn around time. Solid colors would take the least amount of time. No parts removal required. Just follow her instructions and take your time positioning the stripes.
I only had to take a razor and trim the excess where the forward stripes go into where the jack pads are. You don't want to leave any overhang, because dirt and moisture will get in there and they might peel.
Here's another tip: Annette left a little extra length on the application layer so that it would be easier to remove. I trimmed the top ones flush to the backing paper so that they would fit better into the groove above the rocker.
Definitely worth it!
Engine oil and oil filter changePART 1 of 2 Svengoolie gets slick! December 18, 2024.
This post is in 2 parts due to the limit of 10 pics per post.
I know, I know, almost everyone here changes their own oil. However, there are those who haven't worked on their own cars yet, or are nervous that they might break something."
Also, for me, this was the first time that I've done an oil change without laying on the garage floor or driveway, with a car or truck on ramps!
I finally broke tradition and bought a vacuum pump. I can't believe how clean it was and how much oil was removed!
This post will show how I used it and also how to replace the filter and O-rings. I know there are 5 O-rings, but I only used 4 because it felt like the stem was going to break on the filter assembly.
Remember, safety first! Wear gloves and eye protection. Also, dispose of your waste oil properly.

I'm in LUST! Who is, who IS, that babe on the poster in the background???
Hi John!
.
Hi George,
That's Elvira, she's a Horror movie hostess. I've actually met her. Her real name is Cassandra Peterson and she's a red head in real life. She was very nice and I got her autograph on a different poster.
She was on the cover of one of Tom Wait's albums. (I can't show it here, she has no top on).
Power steering reservoir replacement. Power steering flush Part 1 of 2.
Svengoolie steers himself in the right direction!
This is just preventative maintenance I'm doing over the winter. My car is about to hit 50,000 miles so I'm attending to things before they become an issue.
I had to break the post into 2 parts because there are more than 10 pictures.
Remember; safety is the main priority!
This how I did the work on my own car. This is for reference only.
Here are the usual pictures with descriptions.

Thanks again for your invaluable contribution. I was, in fact, thinking about changing the steering pump filter and your post appeared, so added to my to-do list. Already purchased PENTOSIN. Keep up the good work.
Are all of your projects sorted and available in one place except this string? You do a great job.
Thanks ZERACER, I appreciate it.
My windshield trim replacement is a sticky in the maintenance section, other than that it's all here.
Maybe I should ask management if I can make a maintenance thread. Then I can copy just the maintenance posts into that thread.

Thanks Jaymon for the kind words.
My only advise would be take your time and plan for the old reservoir to leak when you remove it.
Drain as much as you can get out of it and stuff plenty of towels under it.
It's not a hard job, but it can't be rushed.
Best of luck!
John
