Default wing issue with coupe and roadster

greetings,
this is about the coupe and maybe the roadster.
it's about the wing.
i have it uninstalled the wing and removed the electic motor.
the issue is that the limit switches are not being activated.
on the wing their is a shaft the runs nearly the lenght of the wing.
in the center of the shaft is a big gear, on both sides of the big gear their are protrusions that stick out and should make contact with the limit switches when the end of travel has been reached.

i'm having problems with taking the wing apart any further. does anyone know where i can find instructions to remove the shaft in the center of the wing ?? i have downloaded the shop manual but im unable to find further instuctions.

The used wing is probably your best bet. I have never taken one apart and I think replacing the whole unit would be the best solution.
If this doesn't solve your problem, you will have to do some testing for voltages at the switches.
I hope that this works out for you.

when i bought the car the wing didn't work. it was in the down postion.
the fuse (number 16 i think) was blown. i replaced the fuse and the fuse blew the moment i started the car. so i took the wing off, with the wing disconnected the new fuse did not blow. the wing was full of junk, i don't believe it has been working for a very long time. after cleaning and getting smooth movement from the wing i reconnected the wing to the car, the wing was in the up postion. when i started the car the fuse did not blow. when i pressed the "wing down" button the wing moved to the down postion and then the fuse blew. the problem is not the microswitch, strangley enough somehow the "big gear" has slipped on the shaft.

most likely i could create two cam lopes on the big shaft and postion 2 micro switches to the cams but at 95 bucks why bother. i bet i couldn't build the cam lopes for less than 30 bucks and 20 hours labor.

Have you just thought of replacing the wing?

New mech and connectors might get lucky and get one in the same colour
