Fan Recall
Are any of you having problems with the dealers not getting in the "new" fans for the recall? I have been trying for over 2 months and the dealer keeps telling me that the fans are still on backorder. In addition, have you seen any difference in the temperature gauge once your XF is warmed up?
Thanks
Thanks
My Dealer had the part in stock when I came in with the TSB. There is a slight difference, my gauge was always slightly above the mid-point now it is slightly below.
It took my dealer about 4 days to receive the part after I called the service department. The mechanic cracked the shroud when he installed it, so a new one had to be ordered, which took about 5 days. I installed it myself to keep the "idiots with tool boxes" from touching my car again. The temp gauge runs pretty close to the same as before the recall.
Called my dealer, took almost 2 weeks to get the fan in, 15 min job to replace. The best part is my dealer called me 9 days later said my recall part was in, I asked, the one you replaced over a week ago...

My dealer got the fan part in no problem. Now the $1.50 radiator hose bracket they broke in the process is another story. Still isn't in after almost 2 months... 30 days to order the wrong part and now another 25 and no word yet.
Contact Huffines in Denton. I took mine in a week ago, and was out in 45 minutes. The tech who did the work never left a mark on the car. If I didn't know it was replaced (saw him working on it), I would never have known it was touched. I understand they still have parts in stock. Right off of I-35 at Post Oak Road. Ph# is 866-443-9066 (toll free).
it took 5 days after the TSB came out to get mine done. they also told me that out of all the crossfires out in the madison area he sees mine more than the rest put together. then he looked at my mileage and said i am the only one that dries the crossfire 17,000 in 6 months.
Just curious about this fan recall. I have not heard anyone on this forum that has actually experienced the symptoms relating to this recall.
There must be some definite repeated issue (overheating) to get Chrysler to even consider a recall.
