Heated Seats
i took my car in a couple of weeks ago for the bottom driver seat heater not working. after being in the shop for two days, they told me they had ordered the wrong part. two weeks later- they still haven't received the part. anyhow, the 'heating kit' is claimed to have been around $200... of course, that was the wrong one.
Hey everyone . . . just a quick note to say that I have uploaded the Instruction Sheet for the Heated Seat Repair Kit . . . . hopefully I can get the one seat done this weekend . . . will take pics of the process and let you all know how it works out !
PS - go to my first post to see the pdf of the instruction sheet.

Hello everyone, new to the forum. I see several postings indicating that these seats were covered by extened warranty. I purchased the best warranty from Chrysler and was told this morning that the "seat warmers" are the one and only luxury item not covered in the "luxury group". My driver's side went out comepletely, but the passenger seat works fine. It's cold in Indiana so I want those seats working! Can anyone help me out with some advice, details of their own experience? I love my car, but I'm telling you what, I can see why the Daimler-Chrysler group is struggling...the after-care is not that good.
Thanks!

Is your original warranty expired.....regardless go to another dealer.....the seats are coverd under your extended warranty. It is my consensus is that dealers just don't want to deal with the proper "fix", just replace the seats.
Unfortunately, yes, my 3/36k warranty is expired. But I am within the extended warranty period. The dealer had no problems taking a look to see what was wrong, but they wanted me to be aware of their riduclous diagnostic fee in the event that my extended warranty wouldn't pay (which he said on my car can happen). I actually talked to someone at Chrysler Service Contracts this morning who told me that "heated seats are the one 'luxury group' item not covered in your wanrranty". But, as others posted that an extended warranty helped them out - I don't know what to do! I think it is a shame, this is an identified problem with these cars but rather than take care of the consumers, once Damiler-Chrysler split, they probably figured the Crossfire customers would go elsewhere when looking for the next car since they have stopped production on them after 2008.....what a shame!! SUch a fabulous car (except when broken!!!)
Hey all . . . FINALLY after all this time, I was able to work on the Crossfire today and fix the drivers side seat heater - seat bottom. The kit that I got and described earlier, is for ONE seat. It will fix either the bottom (with new element), or the back with new connector . . . anyhow, I have uploaded pics and description of the repair (step by step) . . . I think the hardest part was following the instructions that were provided. However, was able to complete this in about 2hrs. probably could have done it quicker, but was trying to be very fussy about it . . .anyhow, repair is great, with seat heat happening !!
The pics are at the attached URL . . note that you have to start on page 3 and go backwards to page 1. Don't know why they uploaded in reverse order . . . .
Anyhow, hope that helps all . .
Cheers

Clicked on your link but the pics are no longer there (not surprising since it's been 3yrs), do you still have them ?
It's been mentioned several times in the heated seat failure threads that it would be prudent to also replace the "Control Module", otherwise known as Switch, Heated Seat. Chrysler p/n [FONT='Calibri','sans-serif']05097522AA. This part is and has been on nationwide back order with NO ETA for a significant period of time. This part controls the timing, current, voltage to both seat heating elements. It's located behind the row of switches at the bottom of the center console (Limited). It should be replaced if either seat heating element has shorted or opened. Is there an equivalent MB SLK 230, SLK 320, SLK 32 part number ??
