Mityvac vs Moeller Topsider Oil Extractor
I have been on the fence between the Moeller and the Mityvac 7201 (both the same price, give or take $5 or so). The Moeller has only good reviews both on Amazon and West Marine (majority). The Mityvac 7201 and 7400 have mixed reviews and worry of the long-term reliability. The 7201 is being repeadly being shipped missing a gasket with terrible customer service from the mfg. and has the unnecessary reverse flow feature which just seems like more to break. The Moeller seems to be a favorite amongst the boating world in particular and have not read a single bad review! I'm leaning toward the Moeller. But with a higher msrp at the same price, the Mityvac seems like more for the money.. I wonder where they're both "made in?" Problem is the Moeller is 4.0 Liter and the Mityvac is 8.8L, preventing emptying halfway through... but I'm sure its a less cumbersome or large unit?
From those who have either the Moeller or Mityvac, what are you findings/opinions/problems/etc.?

I have the Mityvac and like it. It's got a big enough translucent reservoir with markings every liter. 8 liters is roughly 8.5 quarts so you know exactly how much oil you've extracted. The first time I used mine, I heard hissing all over the place. Check the small short tubes. Push in on the light blue retainers, and the tubes come out. They should be square without burrs. I clipped mine square and reinserted them back, and now it works like a charm. Not something you should need to do with a new piece of gear, but it wasn't hard to do. The big translucent container is what sold me.

This is a real heavy duty unit. I keep it on the boat for the big jobs. The SUCK UP made by Alloy Marine. 3 Gallon bottle, holds 2.5 gal under vacuum.

Went with the Mityvac on the sole reason it holds the full 8.5 qts. The complaints seem to be stupid things, which like was mentioned, shouldn't have to be addressed with a brand new product.
I have the Pela Pro 14 (14L capacity), have had it for nearly 3 years, and it works great. I have not had the first problem with it but it is a bit more expensive than the others. It was bought more for convenience than price.....and, it's a breeze to take and empty at the recycle tank.
I got it here:

I bought the Mityvac 7400. Works like a charm.
WOW, this makes oil changes fast and easy!
I'm going to change the oil through the drain plug every 3rd oil change, just to make sure I don't have too much gunk in there.
