Default Headlight Replacement - SRT6

Hello All,

I'm replacing my headlights with new OEM units...not the bulbs, the entire units (due to cosmetic damage). Does anyone have documentation/information/suggestions on same? I'm trying to avoid purchasing a service manual at this time. Thanks!

You can get a PDF of the service manual in this thread in the SRT section:

I just had mine replaced at the dealership. Here is a link to the .pdf invoice I posted:

At least it has the #'s-it might help?

Also-the headlamp assemblies are identical for all models (SRT, Limited and Base) of the crossfire. At least in the 'states.

Are the headlamps a single unit? Is there anyway to get inside of the casing without cutting into it? I want to put a Audi LED light bar at the inside base of the headlight casing and was wondering if theres a hole or could remove one of the headlight bezels to feed the tube into..Any infor would be appreciated!

Hi,
Do a search on the subject "angel eyes"; there are full instructions on headlight disassembly.

The headlamps are a sealed unit, there are number of threads on the topic. One of our UK members has recently posted his Angel Eyes mod.. Here's a link to a pretty good write up, although it's not a Crossfire, the process is the same:

I have done it several times with and without the front end on. Front end off is easier.

There are two GOTCHA 10 mm bolts per headlight on the I Cant see them Bottom. Must get up close and personal from the BOTTOM to access them. Removing the splash shields on the inner fenders allows access. Again front end off is easier.

On my lift the front end comes off in about 10 minutes, pull wires and un do the 10mm bolts -------------its off, tough the first time.

Leaning toward the weekend.......................Woody

Assuming that the SRT6 has the same headlights as the other models, it is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and will be replaced by the dealership if you tell them that the lights are defective and there is a TSB for them. The dealership I go to tried to have me pay $800 for one blown unit. I argued that it blew because moisture was in the light and therefore it was a defect in the design. They replaced it but charged my $100 for labour. At first I was thankful. Later, I found out there is a TSB on the headlights and went back to get the other side replaced for cosmetic reasons. Once I said that it is a TSB it cost me nothing and no questions were asked. Good luck.

If the cars still under warrantee have the a chrysler dealship check them out, i had my o5 srt6 headlight units replaced and where covered by the warrantee, mine had hazing, continuous moisture, and minor discoloration, they were twice as bad as my 98 corrolla. dealership stated they had very poor seals which are a common problem with the car. not sure if thats what you meant by cosmetic damage but good info for anyone else with a similar problem.

Hi All
I have just today replaced my headlamp units , I jacked up the front ,took front wheel off ,unscrewed the front of the wheelarch covers & pulled out of the way , removed two bolt/nuts from bumper to fender , remove two lower headlamp bolts , removed two upper headlamp bolts ,removed two upper bumper bolts (star heads) ,remove grille , took out side light (UK) + two cables back of units & that was it , pull & roll headlamp unit watching lower adjuster bolts as could mark the bumper do not take adjuster out of unit or your lights will be out of line . the first one took me about 1 hour the 2rd about 20mins , hope this help someone .

Cheers

Andy

If anyone has a right passenger headlight laying around or for sale I would absolutly love to have it. Please send me a pm. I crashed my car into a stop sign while I was drifting in the rain yesterday and now i need some parts . I cant bear looking at my car from the aftermath.
