Default Disabling your Crossfire on purpose

Ever leave your car somewhere, like an airport parking lot etc. and return to find it gone ?
Well, this may help ( still no guarantees ) :

Connect a spare 15 amp ( blue ) fuse across your battery to blow it.
When leaving your car, pop the hood, remove the cover from the box by the battery and replace fuse #5 with the blown one. Keep the good one with you.
This will disable the fuel pump, ain't nobody goin nowhere.

Couldn't you just pull fuse #5 without sticking a blown fuse in? Same difference?

Maybe dont leave the key in it, isn't that the same thing?
Don't these cars have to have the key that's programmed for them to start?

I think the trick is for the experienced car thieves who know how to bypass just about every security system made. They just do not want to take the time to look for one that is intentionally blown as an anti theft deterrent in areas where special cars are ripped off so much (yeah ours would be a special car have you seen prices for spare parts on the retail market). Not having the fuse there would be a noticeable thing on a quick scan so a blown one would pass that quick scan leaving the thief to move to someone else's who doesn't have a fuse in or is a little less like George n I who watches out for peeps that prey on people. I say it is a great idea! Especially if you leave your car in any high crime/auto theft area.

I figured car thieves just went for Hondas that they can start with a screwdriver... or a nice, expensive car that would be worth the risk... i.e. not a Crossfire

It shouldnt be a problem though. Without Star DAS and programming another key I would literally PAY to see a proffesional try do it. The immobilizer's on our car's are just something you can't get around... Part of the reason the V8 auto's run on a start button and not just the key........

+1 I am with you, Rayth. They are either going to go for the low hanging fruit, IE cars that are easy to steal, or if they are going through the trouble of bypassing coded keys and disabling security systems, they are stealing something expensive and not terribly rare, so the resale does not stick out.

The crossfire would be the worst car to steal, limited market, not that expensive comparably, and a mercedes security system to boot LOL

The idea is valid, but most of these cars are garage queens, not parked in high crime areas unattended for days at a time IMHO
