Talking Hood Prop Strut Tool

Not having all the "cool toys" some of the really adept Crossfire owners may have...
I came across this problem while trying to replace my wife's leaky hood prop strut.
Pesky little expansion clip, didn't have any thing to release the top from the bolt...

So I made one from an old pair of dull wire clippers, and they wonder why we pack rats never through anything away...

Hope this helps some one else...

Which strut did you buy? Have you got a partnumber for the stabilus one with extension/button?

Terry, MacGuyver as always

Did you already throw away her hood prop? I was going to ask how bad it was because with my CF hood, I need about 15% of the power that my OEM hood prop currently has and was wondering if a semi-worn out model would work better for me...

Yes John, I already trashed it, leaking oil all over and couldn't hold up it's own weight, let alone anything else...
