Radiator overflow tank

Default Radiator overflow tank

I have a 2005 Crossfire Roadster and is in the process of changing out the radiator overflow tank. I have removed the 2 10 mm nuts that secure the tank to the engine bay, but there is grommet that is in the middle of the tank securing it to the car. How do I take this a loose. Any help would be apprecitated.

Seems from the HID headlight thread.. it just pries up.. Please do a quick search to confirm.

I sprayed WD40 around the grommet and spike and tugged and it popped out. The lubrication helped a lot.

That's the way I do it however I have learnt to wear gardening gloves the hard way as I always ending cutting myself if I don't!

Thank God this forum has the information I am looking for, I ran into this last night and it drove me crazy until say "!@#$%" and bolted it back up.

I will go spray it now and give it a good yank!

Forgot to post but the WD-40 trick works and was about to remove the old tank quickly. Repair of the old tank with Gorilla glue, seems to hold pressure and no leaks.on the nipple.
