Default Removing Drivers Door Handle and Mirror

Hello everyone, I am new to the Crossfire and you folks are very knowledgeable
I have to have some paint work done to my drivers door. I would like to take off
the door handle and mirror, my paint guy says he can tape around them. I would like
a Cleaner finish and I worry that down the road that Peeling may occur because I did
not have them removed and painted under them.
My question to you all is, should I remove them? and if so, How difficult is the process?
Any info. as to what to look for or the how to''s would be much Appreciated.
Thanks

Still need help removing door handles, have been reading the How To's
I have a question, do you need to use Ball Head Allen Keys to remove the screw
through that little hole, once you pull back the rubber door seal? And, are hex keys
and allen keys the same thing?
Thanks guys

Are you sure it is not a Torx screw?
Hex and Allen profiles are the same.
The word Allen is used like we use the word Hoover instead of vacuum cleaner.

I tried all the allen wrenches I have seems like they are either
to small or to big, that's why I was wondering if maybe you have
to use a ball head allen wrench. Does anyone know for sure?
I am going to pick up a set of ball heads tomorrow, also, is it
easier to get the handle off after I take the door panel off, I
am going to take the panel off anyways because I want to
remove the mirrors.
Any help or suggestions would be Appreciated.

You DON'T have to take the door panels off to remove the mirrors.
This I do know, as I have done it, however I have not tried to remove the door handles.

There are "standard" and "metric" allen wrenches, make sure you are using metric. It's not easy to get to (a slight angle to it), but it's doable! I had same issue with wrench not fitting until I tried metric.

Thanks for the reply. I am going purchase a new metric set today, maybe I am just missing
the one I need. Also, once I get the door handle off, does that little piece that is attached to the
car, does that come off also without having remove the door panel to access any screws behind it?
Sounds as if you had yours off before? And the little screw on the bottom side of the door handle
the one you see when you pull the handle out, do you have any ideas as to what size it is? I presume it
is metric also?
Thanks

All of the fasteners are metric, just make sure you do not try and undo a Torx head screw with an Allen key.
Have you studied the Service Manual? One size it mentions is a 4mm Allen screw to remove the key cylinder.
