I've bump started my '07 before. Agree use 2nd (1st may just slide tires). Do not use 2nd if moving backwards. Get up to speed with clutch depressed, slip clutch until it fires, then depress clutch, move to neutral, and rev a little.

THe last time I push started a car was with my 1974 Plymouth Duster - 318 V8 and 3 speed stick. And even then, I used 2nd.

Remember, your starter does not turn the engine over very fast, so 2nd should do it - and as one of us just pointed out, first will probably just slide the wheels anyway.
