Default Ignition Wiring - Push Button Start

Hello All, not sure if this is the correct area to post this, but here goes. I am looking at installing a push button start switch and need to getting the wiring diagrams for a 2004 Limited. Also, any help with getting access to the ignition switch and cigarette lighter would be greatly appreciated. Anyone out here do this already?

In most of our cars, yes! My key is getting finicky and the push button start would be a cool way to solve the problem. Please keep us posted on your install, I might want to do the same thing.

You are gonna be looking for the purple wire behind the instrument cluster. You have to remove the entire drivers side dash to get at it. Start at the door, and work your way in. there are way too many screws to remember where they all are but if you take your time and remember what sizes go where, it's not too difficult. Just a heads up, the surround for the instrument cluster and the plastic that is on the top part of the dash are fused together. Dont' try to separate them or you'll be in there with the epoxy or hot glue as super glue will not hold it. Weird plastic combo.

Also, check out this thread. It's pretty much exactly what you are trying to do but more in-depth.

I think the push button start is a very great idea. I'm gonna install one in my car soon also. Sometimes our ignitions have a mind of their own.
