Default Installing a missing jack location point

Already when I bought the Crossfire it missed one of the jack points. It was a bit difficult to find them in Europe where I live, mostly because it has some confusing names in spare part lists.

I have documented how I found the jack location point and installed. It's a bit confusing, because I didn't order one for a R170 chassi but a R171 chassi. It fit almost perfect.

Maybe to some help for some.

Your modified R171 Jack Pad looks very close to the R170 Jack Pad.

It's very strange, when I look for a R170 jack point it looks totally different. Look at the example I included. Maybe if I order that one it will be something else I get, more like the one you posted a photo of.

Thanks for responding ! I updated my homepage with that information:

The jack pad for the Crossfire is a 193 part number and 170 chassis jack pad is round. This has been discussed before. The r171 jack pad can be modified to fit but is also 1 cm taller but that shouldn't make a difference.

That MOPAR listed Jack Pad is the M-B part for the Crossfire. Just happens to be MOPAR's P/N, which we all know they rename under the MOPAR family. Price is actuallly somewhat good. Found it listed on this website: CLICK

You are not making any sense. Crossfire parts have two part numbers, the Mopar part number and then either a Mercedes part number (that can be ordered from Mercedes) or a Crossfire specific 193 part number. The Crossfire jackpad is Crossfire specific (193 997 00 86) and not a R170 jackpad which I explained to you are round and not similar at all.

Like Astrofriend pointed out the R171 jackpad which is much cheaper can be modified to fit instead of paying almost 3 times as much with shipping for one jackpad from Chrysler. Viper666 originally figured this out on the German Crossfire forum back in 2012.

Not much point in continuing this back & forth. I'm convinced you are stating correct information & I know I am stating correct information. All I'm stating is a website for MOPAR Parts that lists the Jack Pad I referenced in my previous posts. It is the specific one for the Crossfire. In earlier posts, that MOPAR P/N was confirmed by others (Red Dog & mariontr). CLICK

I'm well aware that a search for an R170 Jack Pad will most likely turn up the round version, which isn't for the Crossfire. But I found the MOPAR Part using a search of that sort. It probably would be easier to find if the search was for a Chrysler Crossfire Jack Pad.

Later,
