Hi xup, the 'rears' are just subs not full range drivers. So yes, it only really has front speakers; a base/mid and a tweater in each door.

Paul, just as a point of interest - having lost her ipod, Andrea bought Aldi's equivelent product offering which looks virtually identical to the ipod for £19.95. Its a 4GB MP4 player, and, it has a "built in" radio transmitter. She now has it in her Suzuki Jimny Jeep where the (very basic) radio picks it up and plays it brilliantly. She pops it in a pocket in the dashboard and it works great. Its a cheap'o solution but the features are the same and sound quality seems great.
See you Sunday!

Hi,
I have a radio transmitter for my iPod, but it seems to get bled over by other transmitters, and needs re-tuning from time to time.

I’m looking for a more wired solution to this problem. Seems that Alpine are the best choice at the moment.

I have an Alpine head unit with the inbuilt iPod interface (can't remember the model though ). It works a treat. All your playlists/tracks etc can be scrolled though in seconds. It all connects with a single lead and keeps the iPod charged. Kenwood (my first choice) have similar system but I found the output wasn't driving the stock amp hard enough so opted for the Alpine.

There is a wealth of information among forum members dealing with the IPOD and XM solution. After searching through the misc. threads and by trial and error I choose to use the Audiovox wired modular. This has more than meet my needs in sound quality with the factory head unit. Granted it may not have 35 yrs. ago but is a vast improvement over the wireless modulators.
