I now have a Crossfire, thanks the advice
Hi all,
After a lot of searching around and listening to the advice given on here, I've finally found one.
It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get home, due to pulling off the motorway to avoid the gritters. I must have been the slowest driver on the M1 so far this year.
The only downside to owning the car is getting out.
I now feel quite at home driving it and now know why you guys love them so much.
The car I've bought has a two tone interior with a metalic red paint job, it looks stunning. The previous owner has pampered the car daily and it's only covered 16'K miles. The only fault with the car is two small scuffs to one wheel (an easy fix), besides that it looks like a showroom example.
Can't wait to give it a good clean tomorrow and get rid of any salt traces from the long drive. oh, and take it for another drive
Thanks again everybody, I will post some pics up tomorrow.

Welcome Doctor_D
I'm glad you are enjoying your Crossfire.
I'm sure the novelty of having this car and driving it will never wear off.
I have had mine for almost 2 years and now having driven 23000 miles I still love every minute spent behind the wheel !!
Enjoy , Gary

Welcome, and congratulations on the new purchase. You're lucky enough to be on the same landmass to hit the autobahn if you like......lucky Ba$tard! We have nothing like that in the states.
Hey GDC-SRT
You got my house bugged? How did you know what I was listening to?

Hi all,
Sorry about the delay in posting, got carried away with driving
Well so far I've managed to do around 3000 miles in my Xfire and loved every minute of it.
Only had one problem so far......"other people parking to close"
I now park miles away from anyone else and only had dentmaster out once....
I've completed the bang per buck speaker mod and ended up replacing the Becker unit with an ALPINE unit, but besides that everything else is still stock.
Washing it is a weekly pleasure, but cleaning the front wheels is a pain in the ***....
Can anybody recommend some better pads (especialy for the front), as the amount of brake dust is just rediculous.
Also noticed the badges on the wheels have discoloured, is this a comon problem ?
Added a couple of pics, hope to see you at Billing in August.

You can use Rotex Gold pads, EBC pads, etc. There's a few makers of pads that cut down on the dust.
Or you can do what I did. I didn't want to toss out the stock pads while they're still good, seems awfully wasteful to me. I just waxed the hell outta the wheels, now they clean up pretty quick, and don't seen to collect as much dust either.
Even going to the Rotex pads won't keep your wheels from getting dusty, it'll just cut down on it.

Hi Doctor D,
this also drove me bonkers. I switched to Rotex Gold imported from the US, they are brilliant for dust. I couldn't find a UK importer. The advantage over EBC is that they work properly at normal road conditions but the EBC generally don't work properly until they are warmed up such as what you need for competitive driving...... so my research led me to believe.
I was only charged $8 shipment for a full set and if you contact them direct they will state a low value on the package and avoid import duty. They are nice friendly people. PM me for the full details. Cost me Ł100 for the full set including shipping, but that was before the exchange rate went silly.

Cheers guys, I always seem to get drawn to red cars.....
Ken,I use the AutoGlym AquaWax after washing the car.
You spray it on and wipe the water away with the cloth provided.
The only buffing required is on the glass and the body dries without any streaks....
I highly recommend it, and the smell is lovely...
