Being a girl and not having access to all the tools and goodies that most of you men have, has anyone found these from a company that are pre-made for our car yet? I could probably install them on my own if they were prefabricated.
I'm sure you could convince someone with the right skills to do this for you down there in TX with just a few bats of your eyes and maybe a contribution to their drinking habit.

if you are ready to have angel eyes done PM me i can set you up with a setup. unfortunetly i am selling the crossfire and soon i will be selling my HID with acura tl bixenon projectors, lexus rx 330 AFS projectors and 6000k angel eyes CCFL. I am not even sure the pricing on the complete hid but if you want just angel eyes that should not be to high. I am guessing labor is like $150 and the angel eyes are like $100.

Hi DeUnger05

Good work my man , I was thinking about white rings to start with but the shop was out of stock at the time ,So blue it was . Hope you have sealed the lens fully as i have a very small leak on one side (bummer) , how have you got the rings wired ??? .

I think we can now start a very small spin off forum just for Angel eyed Xfires .

Welcome

Andy

Thanks. i used a good amount of silicone to seal them back up, i didnt cut the lens instead i cut the housing enough that i could get a knife under the lens and as gently as i could pry it off. i wired them in with the corner light so they are on if my lights are on. its pretty neat because when the courtsey lights come on after i shut the door the rings light up as i'm walking away. as far as i kno you are the only other person with them in your car, faiz23 showed some headlights with them but not in the car. i'm curious how many people have done this.

thanks again for the info you provided,
Ben

just wanted to say thanx to everybody involved in this thread - I like the angel eyes and wanted to do them but I thought it was beyond my expertise. Armed with the information from this thread I was ready to commence the mod so I ordered some lights from Amazon however I canceled the order from Amazon, because after further reading on the thread I found a better deal from the Retro site, their lights were $26.00 cheaper --- thanx forum members

Hi James, I'm gathering info for my AE install. I'm unsure about the wiring, I saw ur post for the wiring, so I was hoping you could advise me on this. Could I run the AE from the corner light or the side -light, if so would I splice into the wiring? If I went with the relay as you showed in your post, where would the relay be inserted? The wiring is my biggest concern because I don't want to fry my electronics any advise you care to offer would be greatly appreciated --Stephen (coolx)

Here is a very crude diagram but you should get the idea.

What's the diameter of the rings required?

120mm fit perfect for the outer rings. IIRC, the inside ring requires 90mm, but not for sure since I didn't do mine. Sometimes too much of a good thing is bad!

thank you for the very helpful diagram. I have 4 rings with 4 inverters. I want them on whenever side markers are on like in your diagram, so i need 4 relays???and what amp relays? Would these mount into a relay block??? i wouldn't want to splice into each sidemaker in 2 places and have wires running all over the place. thanks for any help,

Dave

Dave, My inverters are factory wired to allow for powering 2 rings each. Not sure about yours. One relay per side should due. I don't recall the amp size of the relays. I do recall that the supply wiring to the inverters is really small telling me they can't draw a large amount. A 20/30 relay has worked fine for me over the years. The relay I use has a mounting tab on them. You can mount the relay or if out of sight, wire tye it to the loom. Wiring the supply (+) side of inverters to #87 of the relays should be just fine.

Ok perfect. My inverters can power 2 rings i just thought maybe id get greater light output, again i know zero about electronics. thanks for the advice. what gauge wire would you recommend?

The light output will be the same whether you use 2 rings or 1, I tried it both ways.

CAUTION: You can NOT change the length of the wires between the inverter and the rings. I learned that the hard way. If you lengthen the wires, the rings will be dimmer depending how much you lengthened them. The manufacturer claims it won't hurt them if you do this if they are too bright for your particular application. However making the wires shorter to brighten the rings may cause premature failure. The length of the supply wires to the inverter does not matter.

14 gauge wire seems to be just fine on my car.
