Default Hot on the heels of UK Ken

Hot on the heels of Ken I regret that I too have to report that I am a crossfire owner no more.

With Tony and I both working from home and rarely having much need for a vehicle we have decided that it is stupid to have 2 cars any more. Our PT Cruiser is now 6 and showing a lot of wear and tear, last year £1100 for MOT due to major brake overhaul and this year £1300 due to steering rack being replaced plus a few other things. The chrome alloys are corroded inside so it needs 4 new wheels soon and will need tyres in the next 12 months.Too expensive for us to continue with it.

As for my crossfire it needs a service (2nd) at £277 quoted, tax is up in Sept as is insurance. As far as I know there are no defects with it that would cause expense but it is almost 4 years old and I worry about major parts failing over the next 2 years. The PT was faultless for 4 years and became expensive in year 5 onwards.

We were offered an excellent deal on a Sebring and will take delivery early next week. I got the Sebring free plus some cash and it has all the gizmos fitted including the fancy radio/sat nave/dvd player. It is 09 plate delivery miles only. No MOT for 3 years, warranty, breakdown cover and taxed for 12 months in the £215 band. The car suits our needs perfectly as it has a big boot for my luggage when we go away and I go shopping.

I really enjoyed coming to the meets and meeting up with you great folks we had some good times together. Adios Amigos.

Jean & Tony

Hi Mogsta
Sorry to hear your moving on from the Crossfire, but I can see where your coming from....I just hope I haven't started a downward spiral.

Keep an eye on the Crossfire meets as us ex Crossfire owners are I'm told, always welcome, so perhaps we (as guests) will meet again.

Cheers

Ken.

I think it had been on my mind for a few months if I am honest. The recent events with the PT tipped the balance and Tony is always happy to save a few quid if he can!

I sincerely do hope that I will make it to a future event and see everyone again.

Jean

Jean - sad to hear you have decided to change - but I hear the Sebring is a very nice car, you let us know how you get on with it! Good Luck!

I feel somewhat saddened that there are people selling up. I understand the reasons, but it’s just sad to see people leave.

Good point Ken - but it may be too long to wait untill Xmas, better get something arranged before then! (in any case, beer prices will have gone up by then)

Hi Mogsta,
I can see your reasoning, you are still in the Chrysler family though so I guess we wouldn't bar you from a Crossfire meeting if you wanted to turn up !
