Default Bl***y Kerbs

2 days of first year owning my Crossfire and I kerb a front wheel

Took my son to hospital and as I'm manouvering on the way out of the car park to put my ticket in the machine for the barrier to go up I didnt only hear it but I felt the front drivers side wheel grind on the kerb edge, I have to get so close to the machine with being small or I cant reach to insert the ticket.

I feel for you - I HATE that - that horrible feeling - and the noise - and once you've caught it, sometimes the only way out of a jam like that can make it worse!
And it often happens when you're already aware of the danger and trying to avoid it.
I sometimes think those who design & install these systems don't actually use them - or have a company vehicle that gets trashed daily. Tight entrances to car washes with key pads can be just as bad - not that I'd go near one with the Crossfire...!
So it's a visit to the refurb guys for you then...?

This will wait till spring now.
The other 3 are ok but had a refurb before I bought the car so I will have them all done together because I would never match the paint with the one I kerbed.

If they used the correct paint the first time only you will know what one was redone.

Very true. A few years ago, after less than two weeks with our new Volvo V70, I kerbed the N/S/F - they were extra-cost 18 inchers (so I could get the lower profile P Zeros) - I was gutted so got a superb £60 refurb done immediately - a prefect match. Kept the car for three years and never touched another curb - learned my lesson. Then we recently changed to a new XC70 and after a few months it came back from its 3k inspection with a kerbed N/S/F! Thanks, Volvo stealership. These wheels are diamond cut, though - not such an easy fix.

Shame so many refurbers seem reluctant to diamond-cut SRT wheels - it seems they can't guarantee the cut surface will be corrosion-free for long - but if so, why offer the service? Is there something different about SRT wheels...?
