would recomend you consider auto as Crossfire manual box is not the best in the world.
good luck with your search.
There are a few on autotrader as you say, 33 manuals to be exact (i've been on there every day) but 80% seem to be black which is the one colour I dont want, and there are only 3-4 convertibles on there.
Incredibly I was on to one private seller a couple of days ago and was prepared to fly over and then take a train across country to his doorstep with the money in my back pocket, all I asked was that he first drove about 15 miles to meet a mate of mine who lives 30 miles away from him and although very busy my mate had offered to meet the seller half way and give it a quick once over for me to make sure I wasnt going to waste a day and about £250 travelling, but the guy refused so I left it at that!!
Thanks for the reply, I float along in an auto Merc all week so want a manual for the weekend, the Crossfire is to replace the Mitsubishi GTO i've just sold after 12 years of ownership, i'm basically looking for another weekend toy.

If you find one worth a look in the south I would be happy to go give it a once over for you.
I suggested you sign up ( no charge) to our xfire group at www.ukcrossfires.co.uk and receive monthly details of future meets and xfire related matters.
Wellcome to the Crossfire Fold.

Here's one for 4800 pounds, 77 miles from Gatwick that also has a nice matching blue top.
( I does have 62,500 miles, however )
What's up with those prices in the UK ?
4800 pounds = $7736 US
Here the price for that same car would normally be DOUBLE that !!!
( everyone there must listen to Clarkson and actually think he knows what he is talking about )

I think prices on all used cars are generally depressed in the UK at the moment, particularly for large engines (which over here is anything over 2 litres) and in the current economic climate people are scared to spend money on cars when they fear they may not have a job next month.
Add to the above some people are needing to move their cars on quickly as they need the money to live if they have lost their jobs and we end up with the prices which you are seeing, great for a buyer like me, but the flip side is last week I too was a seller and it broke my heart to sell my Mitsubishi GTO for a giveaway price too.
Where is the link to the car you mention? i'll take a look

Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6 2dr 2004
I have just looked on the Trader, I know you don't really want an auto, but there are a couple of good ones on for not a lot of money
Looks ok that one (from the pics) jump in with your size 10's with an offer of £4,250 and be prepaired to pay £4,500 you never know
I wouldn't pay anymore for that year and mileage.

There are currently two others, one is in Kings Lynn 2006 06 Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 Roadster WAS £5995 NOW £5495 | eBay
The other is in Blackwater which I think is a bit more than I want to pay but may be negotiable Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6 2DR 6 SPEED 2004
I would appreciate your wisdom on either of these if you could take a look at the links.
i'm not too worried about mileage as it will be a 1000 - 2000 mile per year weekend toy so if its got 70k on it doesnt worry me if the price is right.
Thanks for the advice, thats pretty much the figures I have in my head regarding what to offer, and handily my boots are actually a size 10
also he did say its nearly ready for some tyres.

The 06 looks like it could be worth a look but needs to come down in price

The 04 is way to much money for me. 6 grand is creeping very close to SRT6 money (if you can find one)
Know what you mean re mileage, after all 70K on these 3.2 V6's is nothing, bearly run in
Thanks once again for the advice, it all good stuff to know and i'm getting a feel of the prices now for when I negotiate on them.
I dont think our tax goes that high here, i'll need to check, I know we are taxed on emissions for all cars which show an emission rating on the registration document, we dont have an annual MOT here either but when I bring the car back it will have to go for the equivilant of an MOT at the dept of transport HQ just once before I can re-register it here as a local vehicle.
What is the score on the roadster hoods? are they hard wearing? are they prone to leaks? i'm obviously going to be looking for snags, rips, mildew etc on any car that i'm buying but I saw one used road test report somewhere saying that a replacement hood would be into 4 figures which I assume would be the price of a genuine replacement whereas aftermarket hood kits are available for most cars.

I've had both the Coupe & Roadster and I found the hood to be as water tight as the Coupe. Very little wind noise and no leaks from window seal's.
I used Auto Glym Cabriolet Fabric Hood Cleaner once when I aquired the xfire, and since then just regular washing with standard car shampoo is all I've ever done, to date no problems.
Good luck with the purchase...Its a buyers market..haggle hard...and take you're time.

The 06 looks like it could be worth a look but needs to come down in price
also being an 06 it could fall in the £460 road tax band (if that applies to IoM) No mention of any service history

Know what you mean re mileage, after all 70K on these 3.2 V6's is nothing, bearly run in
my N/A Crossfire has nearly 120K miles and my SRT6 82k still good as new
I don't get too hung up on service history, it's nice to see but if you know cars you can tell a good one when you see one, I've seen full service history cars that have been a bag of nails
my 53 plate N/A car came with no history 60k when I bought it, it has never missed a beat or cost anything

Cars are cheap there but tax and gas is not.
As I say sorry to go off topic but .....
