Default Noobie

Hi guys n gals ... Am looking at joining the ranks of the crossfire owners ... So have joined the forum to find out more. Presently drive a Chevy Astro Day Van (American Import) and now hope to move this on .. And the Crossfire has caught my eye.

So firstly ... Spares are these easy to get hold of and prices realistic ... Also what I expect in the way of mpg.

Finnaly for a first post can folks advise on good places fir me to do my homework at.

Also can folks advise on insurance costs and best brokers?

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. Any specific questions you have can be answered just by doing a search.
Not sure what ya mean by spares. If you are talking about body part, there are more being wrecked everyday.
Mechanically speaking it's all Mercedes.
My car is a 6 spd. usually never gets less than 25mpg, and usually always over 30 on the highway.
It's the best car I've owned in the last 45 years.
You won't regret it.

Thanks for the welcome .. I'm up in Dundee . (Sunny Scotland) .. not too sure yet on version . .tho do prefer the hard top to the convertible .. and it has to be auto... and will be a 2005/2006 model ,, as I believe that older than a 2006 road tax is steep.

Will be doing quite a bit of homework over the coming weeks and will decided once I get the Day Van sold.

Look forward to trolling thru the knowledge of present owners and posts on here.

want to know that if there's a problem or a spare required that it wont be a problem .. or a second mortgage for the repair .. what mileage you get .. and what the common pitfalls are .. rust, mechanical.. if any.

If "spares" means repair parts, then body parts can be hard to find, but mechanical parts aren't all that hard - the engine, drive train and electronics are Mercedes SLK parts from the early 2000's.

You are there! Start reading threads here! There are a handful of common problems with these cars, most problems are quite easy to resolve, if you come here FIRST with your problem and read/ask around of the members here.

Welcome from across the pond....
