Hi Whitty,
How's the search going?
Weather is bad here and I believe the rest of the country's got problems too so maybe that's cramping your style right now.
Anyway, just spotted this one within striking distance (for me - just!) - it's an auto which I think you said you'd prefer - not the lowest mileage but not silly high either and within budget, so maybe worth a phone call for more details...?

Thanks Chris

I'm struggling with man flu at the moment and now this weather
It looks like i will be stuck in the house this weekend,

Did go to look at the one with a bit to high millage again as it’s just whati was looking for,
Every MOT and service invoice, even the original dealer brochure with it ,

Also the first aid kit and everything else that was supplied as new in the car,

Even a cargo cover!!!!!

There was only a young lad there when I went there so I’ve emailed the owner

To say I’ll go to £3300

Well you never know

Well, good luck with that! If it's OEM, the cargo cover is worth a good £150+ (plus bragging rights - they seems to be a bit of a status symbol) so bear that in mind if they want to continue negotiations with a counter-offer. History & paperwork sound encouraging - what's the mileage? Is it an auto? - colour? - Just being nosey...
Hope your 'sniffs & snuffles' clear up soon - that's what my unsympathetic wife calls flu!
Having just had nearly 24hrs without power, we now have a monster snowdrift blocking our driveway and lane - never known weather like it - the Crossfire's very glad to be tucked up in the garage!

Hi Chris
It’s a 04 gray/sliver auto 80000 miles
It’s unmarked inside and out,
They were offering a warranty plus 6 months tax 12 months MOT

I’m interested as the last owner had it 7 years and he works at a Mercedes garage,

But there are a lot of cars about with a lot less miles on them,
i just liked the look and feel of this one

Hi Whitty,
Interesting - there are plenty of well experienced owners on here who will tell you it'll be fine with lots of life left in it and for that kind of price, sounds a good deal - and they'd probably be right - but if this is the one you mentioned before, don't forget what 11Feb suggested about trying for a longer warranty - or what UKKen & I said about other (possibly non-Merc.) components (including interior) wearing out long before the engine.
Also depends how long you plan on keeping it and how much you'll want to use it - remember the more you like it (and you will), the more you'll want to drive it but, as you see the miles increase, might soon wish you'd spent just a little more to get one with fewer miles - which would be my preference - but if they bite at your price and you feel happy, go for it! Get well soon and keep us posted.
Chris

Hi all

Well it’s been a few weeks since I last posted I was in the process of looking/buying a crossfire,
But fell ill and it took it out of me,
Anyways I’ve bought a crossfire it’s a silver blue 04 auto
It’s the one I was looking at in my last post,

I got it with 12month mot 6 months tax and 6 months warranty
For the amazing price of £3150 (well I thought it was lol )

I can’t believe how big my smile is every time I drive it,
I will post some pics asap

A big thank you to you all for your help and I hope to see you at a meet very soon

UK Whitty

Well, I said it can pay to be cheeky - well done - that's a deal!
Glad you're all Crossfired-up and feeling better - at least, well enough to drive it
Looking forward to the pics
