2 Faults any help welcome!
Recently bought a crossfire and i have 2 faults with it other than that the car is perfect.
background of the car its a 2005 convertible with 46k on clock.
Fault 1 - headlights my main beam and flasher do not work. I checked the fuse and its fine although it seemed like whoever had the car before me had put a 15amp fuse in the right headlight/ dash indication instead of the 7.5amp so im thinkin potentially this has led to a relay being blown has anyone come across this? the blue "headlight" indication on the dash also does not funtion so its as if the car has no main beam
Fault 2- the soft top - was working fine until the other day when i heard a noice and noticed the top wasnt finishin its cycle on the way down it wasnt able to lock. Upon close inspection the passenger side vanity flap (i have no idea what the official name is for this but there are too flaps that flick out on the roof going down and tuck in when it goes back up) well whatver it is called that hadnt gone up but the drivers side had. I had to manually lift it to put the roof down. Since then the drivers side also now doesnt flick up so to put the roof down you have to stop half way and lift these flaps manually. The flaps however do tuck in when you put the roof back up.
All ideas/suggestions are welcome - im pretty handy with cars and electronics and its something i would hope to fix myslef

Fault 2...The flap problem is almost certainly the two inner cables snaging, could be there dry or a cable has sheed a wire and that is no allowing free moment. I had the same problem and replaced both cables. Cable's available from main dealer or I guess perhaps on ebay, or car breakers. I made my owner inner cable cut it to size and used screw type nipples. I utilized the outer casing and that saved striping it out.
Try oiling both cables first. Good luck.
UKKen.
Cheers for the advice re: fault 2
its funny you should mention oiling the cables because when it first happened it was only the passenger side that wasnt going up and it was really stiff. However since then the drivers side has also stopped but after oiling them both when i put them up manually they go up relatively easy.
I could understand if they werent doing anything but they do tuck in on roof closure which i find odd. Its almost like the system has said "ive had a problem with these going up so im just not going to try"
i thought about taking off the battery and resetting the system but i dont want to upset anything else like alarm etc. also does the radio have a code?

Re fault 1, whoever fitted a fuse of double the original capacity obviously did so to try and cover the fault, and as you say this has probably in time burnt something else out.
A bit of time with a meter should find the headlight fault if you know what readings you are looking for, electrics arent my thing past basic continuity tests etc so I tend to get someone else to have a look.
I think the radio's are coded so before pulling the power for a re-set see if you can find your code, I think mine is written inside the service book.
