Is it possable to adjust the speed at which the spoiler activates?

I perfer the lines of the xfires rear end without it..Yes, I could remove the fuse..But above 80mph I feel its useful.

I just don't want it in view before 80 mph..any thoughts.

I think you will find that changing the activation speed will compromise safety and invalidate insurance.

(happy for it above above 80 mph thought our limit here was still 70)

I really dont think that under 70/80 mph it makes little difference to the handling of the car.


I doubt most of the UK insurance companys even know there is an auto spoiled fitted.
And if they did the chances of them checking it out after an accendent is unlikely.

My daughter in law was in charge of claims investigation at a major insurer and they do check everything especially if the accident is fatal - your logic is flawed about little difference, under some conditions it will make a difference. Car companies don't put items on like this without good reason especially American they all remember Ralph Nader.
Why would you compromise safety for looks?

 

Hi Ken, it's very simple to install a "Kill Switch" to your rear spoiler.
Just tap into the fuse box on "Your" passenger side, locate the spoiler motor fuse, and simply splice in a wire in place of the fuse.
Attach an inexpensive manual on/off switch inside the interior, and simply flip the switch when you want to activate your spoiler. Don't forget to in install an "in-line" fuse between the fuse box and the on/off switch.
Disclaimer: Performing this radical modification may turn your car into an undriveable, unstable, spinning object at speeds of 65 mph or greater, so make this modification at your own risk.
(FYI, I've been lucky, no problems to report since I did mine in 2006). There is an audible warning to remind you the spoiler isn't activated at speeds above 90 mph.
To be on the safe side, I do raise my spoiler when travelling at highway speeds when it's raining, or very windy. Good Luck

 

I installed a na wing on my srt6. Just made a nice button, connect to battery, done.
