Question Not a regular problem???

I'm getting a black '04 coupe on Thursday. When I went to test drive it today, every once in a while it would seem like either one of the calipers was locked up or was not working correctly. I was just wondering if this was a problem that anyone else has ran into. The car that I'm getting is used, but is still under warranty, its just that I rather get it and enjoy instead of having to put it in the shop as soon as I get it. I guess I'm hoping that someone will say that its something simple to fix, but either way I'm still getting the car. I have wanted one for a while and was able to get one from an auction at a great price.

Any ideas, or should I just ship it off to the dealer for warranty work?

I say that if its under warranty, let the dealer fix it. I just hope you can find a dealer that knows how. (see previous threads on inept dealers for more info).

Well I thanks for the input. There is a huge dealership here that has a good rep, but I use to work on and off for 5 years, and I have come to feel that a lot of mechanics think that all cars and trucks are the same. So I will give them a shot, but if they can't get it right, they will be married to my car til it gets right.

How long has the car been sitting for? when was the last time it was driven? When I got mine, the brakes didn't feel quite right either, but the car was sitting for about 4 months. The problem went away after a day or so and the car has braked great ever since.

Drive it hard in a safe area and see if it goes away.
If not take it to the dealer.

Thanks for the extra info. I will push it some and brake hard late one night and see if I can get rid of it. I just don't want to sent my Crossfire to the dealer so soon.

To add to Bobs post, there are any number of XF owners in Florida and I'm sure that a post in your region's thread should give you some advice on finding "quality" Chrysler dealers somewhere in your area. As bobs indicated, there have been bad experiences with certain dealers, but there also have been good ones too.
