Default How much is a new wheel?

How much is a new front wheel in the States?
A new wheel in the U.K. is £500 which is over $1,000.
The lacquer is coming off one of my front wheels plus I've curbed it.
I know I could get it refurbed but what is the chance of them matching the colour?

Thanks.

Norrie.

Color matching is a no brainer with today's modern computers.
I also see plenty of wheels on Ebay over here.

They are abundant here from re-finishers. They run between $150 - $250. You'll find some on e-bay. Do you have any re-finishers in your area? I replaced one of mine that has a little curb rash for $175 plus the exchange of wheel.

But does anyone know how much a new one is?

Thanks.

Norrie:

Don't waste the money on a new rim, especially when you would need two in case you damaged the 19" or the 18" ones.
I just had all 4 of mine redone in Winnipeg for $400 total and they look just like new. They rewelded the rims, refinished, repainted and balanced them.
I admit that the price is good as I know the owner, but they did come out perfect. Just make sure that the company doing them know to drop the wheel sensors into the tire before taking the tire off.
If your thinking of a set of spare rims that you can drive on while you wait for the refinishing, then that is a different matter. It takes about a week if you let them dry a bit better before reinstalling.

My other 3 wheels are brand new.
They were replaced under warranty as the lacquer was lifting.
The 4th wheel has now gone the same way and they wont replace it as it is curbed.
The really annoying part is the curb rash is nowhere near the part where the lacquer is lifting.
I am trying to argue the case but don't hold out much hope.
Here's a pic of the wheel.
As you can see it is on the other side of the wheel.

Yeah thanks.
I just heard back from Moparpart.com and they quoted me the same price.
$361 is about £182 which isn't bad.
I'd maybe get about £50 for my old wheel as well on E-Bay.
The only thing is I'll get stung for shipping and customs.
I'm going to see if I can get one under warranty first.

Thanks.

Norrie.
