Default Custom Magnesium wheels

I'm still doing my research of wheels for the Crossfire, since they weigh in at 40-50 lbs I figured I'd check out the exotic stuff.

I found some Ferrari Mags fairly cheap on ebay, fronts http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferra...QQcmdZViewItem

and the rears http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferra...QQcmdZViewItem

They look like they will fit the crossfires personality.

Anyways, what is the bolt hole dimension on our car? 5X??? mm

Note the following disclosures from the two listings:

"These wheels were recalled and replaced with aluminum alloy wheels made by BBS. There was a potential issue with the Speedline wheels, significant enough for them to be recalled. I do not know exactly what the original concern with these wheels was, but we recommend the buyer investigate the issue if they intend to mount these to their vehicle."

So be real careful before you do anything with these wheels. Good luck.

Yeah I saw that, but I think they replaced the Mags for alloy due to US DOT rules, since mags have a tendency to spontaneously ignite in a white fireball of death, during hard impacts. sounds cool to me.

I'll try and send an email over to Ferrari or search the forums and see what I find.

this might be an interesting project, the Ferrari bolt pattern is 5 on 4.25" or 5x108 mm.
obviously I can't re-weld these rims, but I will have to look at the hubs, I might be able to re-drill the bolt holes for the rotors.

back to the books.

well thank you very much for that information AMGlvr. for the weight reduction, I think they would be worth it, just have to keep an eye on bolt torque.

thank god there is a 3 day weekend coming up, finally get time for projects...woohoo!
