Default Question!

I am buying the Stern ST1 wheels from Silver Fox. I assume the TPS tire pressure senders are independent RF units. Can they be installed in custom wheels and still do their job? If not, how would you disable them so the warning light is not constantly on? I would like to keep this feature, if possible.

Thanks.

I put Stern wheels on my car and the tire shop recommended that I not use my OEM sensor's without an adaptor. So I went with out them and removed the bulb from the dash, (PITA). I liked the Idea of having my OEM wheels, tire's & sensors all in tact anyway. I almost bought a extra set of sensors & adaptors, but the sensors were going to run about $90 each. You will also need 10mm hub centrical spacers for the front to get the center caps on. Also the spacer will not fit over the spindle, you'll have to turn 1.1mm out of the center, (inside) for them to fit.

No I didn't, the OEM bolts are ballseat type plus the bolt are exposed on my wheels, so I needed chrome. My Stern wheels required conical seat bolts too. You will want right at 16mm of bolt going into the hub, so when you get your wheels you'll want to make sure what type of bolt you need, then add in the spacer thickness & wheel hole thickness. For example, my wheel holes were 10mm thick and I used a 10mm hub centrical spacer, then I needed 16mm to go into the hub. So I ended up using 36mm long conical bolts on the front.

ZERACER, there was something I forgot to tell you about the rear lug bolts. You can not go any deeper than 16mm into the rear hub's or the bolts will hit something inside the hubs. I don't know what they hit, but if you go more than the 16mm your wheels won't turn. Sorry I forgot to mention that yesterday.
