Default deep dish wheels 20X8.5

I called a wheel shop that had deep lip wheels. I was thinking they would have 20X10 deep lip wheels but found out they would be 20x8.5 would the deep lip at 8.5 make a better ride if I go with 20X8.5 all way round

Unless I am mistaken, you will be running VERY low profile tires on the front if you get those. Also, those will probably be too wide to fit properly in the front. I have 18x8s and they are near the limit (clearance to the spindle, etc.) with the 245/35R18s on there.

If you are able to fit them, keep in mind the really low profile tires below 30 series will cost you much more, give a harsher ride and you can bend a rim VERY easliy.

Not trying to discourage you... just want to make sure you know the risks and get the best fitment for the wheels you want.

Cheers!

cool thats why I wanted to check. I know alot of people do run 20's all way round though. I was also looking into to going 19's front and 20's rear . rear 20x9.5 or 20x9

trying to figure whats a good stagger set. I'm thinking its going be kinda expensive to break a set like that .

I know alot of the more expensive brand have the sizes I want Asanti,Lexani,Giovanna etc... but want to try to send a less than those brands.

Check into TSW and similar brands... mine were less then $300 a wheel. Tires... well, they got expensive in the back... at over $400 each.

Strangely I can't see the need to try and run this car on anything taller than stock rim sizes... making the ride even rougher, tempting fate to bend a rim, doing without the tire pressure sensor system, etc. You won't even really stiffen the ride any more with those kinds of tires, all you will be doing is transmitting more vibration to the chassis.

But hey, that's just my opinion...

Again, check with TSW, etc... you will be suprised at the wheels that can fit this car. The site I bought my wheels and tires from originally (before I went crazy wide with the tires) is www.buywheelstoday.com. Also, make sure you get the proper or at least very close to proper offset calculations done before you commit to a set of wheels.

Lastly, you won't be 'breaking a set' when you only buy two rims... they sell them individually anyway, so go ahead and do whatever staggered set up you wish.

Hope that helps... Good luck!

Just my two cents, not that it's worth much...

I recently called the "BuyWheelsToday" (BWT) company today regarding a set of rims for my XF, and the guy behind the phone didn't know what he was talking about with regards to the XF. In addition to his lack of knowledge, he was very rude and egotistical, as though his **** didn't stink. When I tried to explain that I wanted a 19x8 & 20x10 setup he said that it was impossible to put that combination on that car. When I told him that it has been done, he said that I didn't know what I was talking about and that if I wanted to spend that kind of money on wall ornaments he'd be happy to sell them to me, as they were "Non-refundable" as he was so eager to point out. Funny thing is, Shade, another XF member, has the exact same set of rims, size and all; plus his is lowered and everything fits well without problems. But what do we know, right? We're just the car owner!

Needless to say, he lost out on a $2,300.00 sale, as I went to a competitor and ordered them! Dumb ***!!!!

Again, just my opinion, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to BWT!

By the way, I went to www.getyourwheels.com Much more professional, much more informative, and much more customer service. To top it off, his pricing is extremely competitive. Go to their website, or call 888-250-9074 and ask for Peter. He'll help you out!

Funny how you get that holier-than-thou attitude at tire shops.......I had a guy from Discount Tire literally tell me "I was full of s**t" when I told him Crossfires come stock with 18's in front and 19's in back!

I had a 20X10 in the rear with no problems 40 offset I would probably go 45 next time round and 40 in the front. Save money on spacers in the long run.

Sometimes the ignorance out there is just stunning.... And I also remember an earlier post where some shop tried to put the 19s on the front and the 18s on the back!
