Got some new shoes and socks for the six
I've been searching forever and finally found a setup that I like..............and that will let me run the exact tires I want. I went with 18x8's in the front and wrapped them with 225/40 18 Nitto 555's and put 18x9.5's in the rear with 285/35 18 Nitto 555R2 drag/road coarse tires. I can still break loose easily on the ice cold roads but the car grabs 100x's better than the Conti SC2's I used to run. Before I would floor it anywhere under 75mph and just fishtail(which was fun) and now the front end just picks up and the rear squats down and digs into the asphalt!!! Enjoy...............

Looks good, but you need some eibachs.
I too will be running 18's all around for 09. Hopefully I'll have them on this weekend and able to post pics.
Look like TSW Jarma to me

What are ice cold roads in Las Vegas, 75 or 80 degrees lol?

Yeah, that's the first thing I said when I put the wheels on is "wow, I need some lowering springs now". I only want it to be about 1/2'' lower and would be happy..............but I don't know how bad that will effect my drag wheel setup. Rite now I'm running the 315/35 17 Hoosiers at the track(drive to and from with them on) and it barely rubs the inner wheelhouse if I hit a big bump in the road.......what'll it do if she's sitting lower with more negative camber?
As far as the ice cold roads go it has been 29-32* in the morning for the last week on my way in to work..........although I don't drive the 6 to work anymore, I just take the Ram.

It gets damn cold(to me) here in the winter time................it actually snowed a couple weeks ago which is very rare. Most people don't realize the average annual temp for Las Vegas is 66* according to the news a while back.
This wheel/tire setup is purely for street enjoyment...........but I will hopefully have some better track times to post up by the end of the month.
Mike those wheels look great.
I can verify how "tail happy" his car was with the old tires. He took me for a brief (but eye-opening) spin on New Years day, what a thrill ride!
I just got home today, and I'd give anything to have those Sunny "ice cold" Vegas streets to take my Crossfire out for a little ride. Strangly, I never have to deal with any of that "tail happy" nonsence (even though I have my TC disconnected). I guess I must have better tires.
Thanks again Mike for the SRT lesson. Lookin forward to seeing that new hood also.

Very nice. I assume the rears are very soft. What do you think you will get out of them if you leave them on all the time for regular driving?

They are very soft and are supposed to last 15,000 miles.............I'll be happy if I get 8-10k out of them. The rear tires are basically redisigned 555R drag radials that now have stiffer sidewalls to handle hard cornering which is perfect for how I drive on the street.
