C32 AMG brakes on SRT6...
I got my C32 calipers and rotors a few weeks ago and started putting them on this past weekend. Here is the rotor mounted and caliper temporarily in place. Note that there is an extra hole in the rotor. That is the factory C32 bolt hole for holding the rotor on the spindle. I had to drill and countersink a new hole in the SRT location.
The calipers are a direct replacement on the SRT. Take off SRT, install C32. I had the rotors turned to clean them up and bought new DiskItalia TK pads which is what I had on the Aero and so it matchs the rears still. The C32 is a 345mm rotor vs the SRT 330mm. The real reason I changed was to get the 4 pot front calipers vs the SRT 2 pot. I will change the rears to the C32 2 pot later. These are on the Aero and I decided to paint the calipers yellow for a nice contrast (and it goes with the Navy colors).

This is what paint looks like drying..........

Mike R did I inspire you with my yellow calipers? I agree that the yellow and navy looks nice together. I have the navy(sapphire blue actually) AMG stickers on my yellow calipers. I don't have the C32 ones though.
Hi Mike,
What have you paid for that AMG kit?
Do you feel much difference comparing the originals? brake power, fade, temp.,...?
keep us updated whit the final picture of your car, looks good in yellow!
Thanks
Tom

I think I just got the final coat of paint on them. I have new AMG decals to put on them and waiting for some new brake pad sensors. Hoping to have them completely installed by this coming weekend.
SilverSaphRT6, I was looking at a set of yellow calipers on MBworld when you were talking about doing yours. I bought a different set of fronts only so I had to paint them.
04Fire, I got the calipers & rotors from a guy on MBworld. $600, delivered. Not a steal, but not bad.

No spacers. They are a direct replacement. The ONLY thing is the little bolt that holds the rotor on the spindle is not in the same place as the SRT as I mentioned above. You can live with out it if you want. But then you have to keep the holes lined up when putting a wheel back on. Those handly little guide bolts that you can buy(or make) would do the trick.
awww crap!....... stock SRT wheels DO NOT clear the C32 calipers. I just ordered a set of 10mm hub centric spacers and bolts from NW. Another week that I cant drive the Aero or test the new brakes. No racing tomorrow either.....
I got the spacers this week.(had to wait for back order) I was going to do a run and test but I didnt do a good enough job of bleeding. I am off all this week and will do that tomorrow and then go break in the new brakes and see how they feel. I havent driven the Aero for a month now........
You do not want to have to run spacers.....just send them to me...my DPE's will clear them with no issues.
Good luck with them buddy, they look GREAT!

Looks really good. I hope you like the braking. I noticed a really nice difference but I was upgrading from the smaller n/a brakes.
I may have a suprise fro you all soon as soon as the V8 is running. I got a deal on some S/CL65 rear calipers. Not sure if I can make them work yet but it will allow for vented discs in the rear. The calipers look very similar to the MB/Brembo fronts.

Sorry, I misread your post and thought you had the V8 runing.
Let us know if the S/CL65 rear calipers are a direct bolt on or need adapters. Are they the same diameter rotors?

Okay, I used one of those one man bleeders and got the air out. The one thing that I really noticed with the new calipers and rotors is that the ABS kicks in a lot more when I hit the brakes hard. That was just my first run out and bedding the new pads/rotors. So far, so good.....
