Koni/Eibach Combo Installed - Rear is slammed ?
All,
Got the Koni/Eibach combo installed with stock size Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires on the car (2005 Limited Roadster). Also went with recommended pad sizes 5 dot (21 mm) front, 1 dot (5mm) rear. The drop in front was pretty much what I anticipated approx .5 inch - no problem. The rear is slammed !!!! With a full bag of gas there's approx. an inch/plus of clearance between the fender and tire tread. YIKES !!!!! What during the install could've caused so dramatic a drop ???? What should be checked to correct ? Anticipated approx 1.5 inch drop off the stock 4 inch gap, this is insane !! Getting front/rear alignments done tomorrow and would like to advise shop. Incorrect spring seating ? HELP !!!

Very hard to get it alligned without adjustable pieces front and rear. Pick some up before you get there and they tell you nothing can be done.
Post some pics of the gap, but if everything was installed correctly I can't imagine what it would be. Might need to swap the pads for different sizes. The ragtop will add more weight to the rear and cause it to sit lower. We had to adjust a customers car after adding a lighter exhaust.

Bmorg, Anthony,
First, thanks for getting back to me.
Second, apologies on posting pics - no can do, work computer and all.
Third, With steering wheel level car steers approx 4 - 6 degrees (S.W.A.G)left (before lowering install). Am hoping to get that adjusted out. Doable ??
Fourth, What could/should shop (dealer performed install - they ain't gettin another crack at her) check for to verify correct install ?
Fifth, Best case scenario, install correct. How much lift/space/distance does a 2 dot 9mm pad set get me ? 3 dot 13 mm ?
Sixth, Thought I saw on the forum the stock pad sizes were 2 dot 9mm front, 3 dot 13mm rear. The 2004 parts manual available on the forum lists the rear spring "isolator" as 1 "burl" ?

I've seen numerous different stock pad sizes for these cars. It's really luck of the draw.
The dealer will need adjustable camber bolts for the front and adjustable arms for the rear (we sell them but are out of stock until June).
9mm=about 3/8 in
13mm= 1/2 in

My car had 2 dot in the front and 3 dot in the rear. Look at the springs. They have the name Eibach on each coil spring and it should be upright. If it's upside down the spring is in upside down. I got 1/2 inch drop on the front and 1 1/2 in the rear so I'm surprised to hear you got more than 2. My car sits level. No rake front to back. I posted a picture in another thread. See post 16 for a picture post instal.

The link won't work. It's in this same section/wheels etc on the 3rd. page called "Eibachs for the SRT upgrade or downgrade.
