What size tires did you mount? I just ordered 18/19 set and looking to mount 285/35/19 in the rear. Curious if this will be an issue.

If I knew how to post a link I would. I searched for "Uncle_al Mandrus Millenium" and got to a link I started in 2009. That thread has some good chat about fitment of the rims and some good pictures of black/polished. There was talk about black/chrome but not good pictures. It will be your task to remedy that situation.

The rims should go on without spacers with OEM tire size....I am simply attempting to go with a wider rear tire.

The chrome Milleniums are on.... pics to folllow someday. I like the look even though IMHO they look less aggressive than I expected. They match the Autoxclusive chrome strakes, wind surround and mirror covers well. I guess I'll need to color match the door to the door handles since I don't think anyone solved the chrome handle puzzle.
285/35/19 in the rear, 235/40/19 in the front, fits well!

Can you provide details on where you purchased at this price. I'm thinking it's probably local to the Maryland area due to your location.

Thanx for the Pix on your Graphite Xfire with the Chrome Milleniums.

(If you happen to have any additional pix with a full side view, it's appreciated).

I have the SSB Roadster, and a local rim dealer was recommending going with the Hyper Silver finish, rather than the Chrome, so I'm kinda at a crossroad on which way to go.

He didn't have both finish styles available for me to view in person.

I know it's probably more of a personal decision on Chrome or Hyper-Silver, but your Chrome on the Graphite looks way to kool.

For anyone interested here's a Mandrus link showing the rims on an SLK:

http://mandruswheels.com/mercedes_wh.../index_nd.html

BTW he quoted me a price of $1350 for all 4 rims mounted/balanced, using my existing tires (18/19) which have less than 1000 miles on them.

I'm more comfortable having them mounted on where I purchase, so I have one throat to choke, if there are issues.

Any comments on whether $1350 sounds fair or reasonable, or should I look elsewhere.

Thanx...

you'll notice a string called "powder coated stock wheels" where I have another image which is more of a side view. Let me know if that gives you the angle you are looking for.

Got it...Thanx...

Now I'm leaning towards the Chrome...LOL...

Was wondering if you'd care to post the price you paid for them.

Or just shoot me a PM.

I'm not sure if the price I was quoted ($1350), fully installed, was reasonable....

Check my pics on Post # 19, "powder coated stock wheels" . Both thumbnails enlarge. The White car has SRT6 Wheesl with 265-30-18 General UHP Tires. The Blue SRT6 has the Millenium Hyper Silver Wheels, 19" x 9.5" wide on the rears. You can see the obvious deeper dish look. Tires are 275x30x19. I have NO spacers and have driven more then 25,000 miles with these wheels on both cars.

I special ordered the wheels from Discount Tire and installed them 05/08/08.
Front wheels: 18x8.5 5-112 bolt pattern = MAND EMIL1885MAE325112S66, price $225.00 each= $450.00
REAR= 19X9.5 5-112 BOLT PATTERN= MAND EMIL1995MAE255112S66, PRICE $285.00 EACH= $570.00 TOTAL $1020.00 Wheels Only. Does NOT include Bells and Whistles.

John, Thanx for the info, I looked at post # 19 as suggested.

I'm confused as usual on Hyper-Silver versus the Chrome, they both look very, very nice, so I should be okay with either choice...LOL

I'm slowly trying to get up to speed on Tires/Rims and what the spec numbers are telling me.

Here are my current good tires that I want to keep:

Front ~ 225-40 R18 Continentals
Rear ~ 255-35 R19 Continentals

That first number (225 or 255) is the tire width in milimeters, so I'm assuming that is what would be used to determine the width size of the rim.....???

If I do the math on your Blue SRT-6, it's 19 x 9.5 on the rears, with a tire size of 275x30x19.

If I calculate 275mm to inches it's 10.82'' as the tire width.

Is there any number on the Tire that would lead you to the correct Rim width...???

Thanx...

A lot of variables here that I am not qualified to answer. I found the tire expert I was comfortable with and let him figure it out. My OEM SRT6 wheels are 9in wide and provide a fairly good footprint (tread width). My Milleniums are 9.5in wide ergo providing a wider footprint. I went from a 35 to a 30 sidewall which gives me a lower profile while allowing me to use a larger 255 to 265 tire and hardly altering the speedo reading. Where you get in trouble with the larger profile tires is the rubber contacting the sheet metal of the fender well, and/or "bottoming out". The 275 tires as you figured, and I don't doubt your math, give me a great footprint with the 9.5 inch rims and NO contact with the body. I will definately as for professional advice before I go to the 285s although members have said a 305 will work. I don't want to worry about spacers, speedo error, or tire rub so I go with what I do to a safe limit wih a larger tire. Speed/RPM Calculator
If I were you I would go to a tire shop that does a large volume business and talk to the manager. If he's worth his pay grade, he won't BS you.
Re: Chrome vs Hyper-Silver, The H-Silver is a closer match to the door handles while the rims polish up like a chrome.

Good Luck and many happy miles. PS: the M's are easily removable and and a number of Mercedes Style center caps are available.
