Default Wheel Bearing Instructions

Yeah Yeah...another suspected wheel bearing thread. I have been searching for the procedure on replacing the front wheel bearings but have found nothing. I'm trying to find torque values and if any special tools are needed. The car has a pulsating feel (not in the brake pedal)(also not a wobble). It varies with speed and gets worse in a hard left turn and better with a hard right. Anyone have the procedures for this?

Why not look in the Repair manual Section 2, page 24.
This is just to test them.

1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
2. Install a wheel bolt (1) on the opposite side from the brake rotor retaining bolt (5).
3. Press the brake pads back in the brake caliper making sure they do not come in contact with the brake rotor.
4. Remove the dust cap (2).
5. Loosen the hub nut bolt. Turn the hub nut (4) back until a slight end play is achieved.
6. Attach a dial indicator.

CAUTION: Do not turn the wheel hub while taking the measurement.

7. Adjust the wheel bearing end play by turning the hub nut (4) in stages while pushing and pulling the rotor firmly
back and forth. Adjust end play to 0.01–0.02mm.
8. Tighten the hub nut bolt to 11 N·m (8 ft. lbs.) and recheck the wheel bearing end play.
9. Remove the dial indicator.
10. Install the wheel hub dust cap (2).
11. Remove the wheel bolt from the rotor.

12. Install the front wheel and tire assembly.
Refer to Page 22-42.

Dang, I really need to get that manual...too bad shipping to Hawaii is so expensive. My dial indicator won't attach anywhere on there, its for aircraft. Maybe I can use my calibrated elbows!

My rear tires are worn but worn even, the fronts are quite new. I originally assumed tires but under braking and hard left it gets worse...

I have it on 2 of my computers and I find myself using it more and more. A real gold mine! Anything I need to do, I reference it first and then ask for a layman's interpretation from the members here. I am invincible (with the service manual)

Hey all,

New to the Crossfire and new to the forum.

I went to the links and only one of them worked. Thank you for the owners manual. I need the nav cd. but the link isn't working (404 page not found).

Is there a different link that I can use, that I could not find?

At the top of the page is this note;
UPDATE: All Links are now live again. Some will NOT work when you just click on them. Right-Click and select 'save link as' or similar.
Did you try this?

*Inserting foot in mouth* My front left tire is cupped on the inside edge. So Im guesing that is where my pulsating noise is coming from. I'm thinking my next project is finding out why they cupped. I have 50 K on my original shocks and about 10 K on my eibach springs. I'm thinking its time for shocks and maybe I will just replace the bearings while the car is in the air...I have read a few cases where crap bearings caused scalloping. My steering stabilizer is only two years old.
