I must have missed that in the pit stops.....
When race cars are put together anything that rotates is very accurately balanced when it is made. Thus when a balanced tire is put on it does not affect the balance of the rotating parts.
When a car comes off the production line not so much time, if any, has been spent on the rotating parts. This means you could have all the weight of the out of balance in one clock position or if you are lucky they could balance out perfectly and anywhere in between. Putting on a balanced tire would therefore not affect the imbalance or the perfect balance you had on the axle from the factory.
I have not seen the machine that rotates the wheel on the car for a long time, maybe I do not go to the right places. If a wheel and tire are spun and balanced on the axle then they are balancing the whole rotating mass. Move the wheel to another axle without re-doing it could lead to massive out of balance situations. Maybe that is why this machine has lost favor, too many complaints.
Some cars come with an out of balance axle and all the wheel balancing in the world will not solve it.
