Srt 6/ NA oem rear shock replacement are lowered info
Hey, guys i"m trying to replace my rear shocks on my srt6 ,i bought Bilstien replacement"s they do not fit they are to long new ONES 20" old 181/4. Can fined no spec"s on aftermarket shocks other than monroe they show p/n 39045 which has same spec"s as the oem"S. Bilstien, offers a sport shock for lowered cars which are supposed to be shorter! cAN FIND NO SPECs
Has anyone replaced their rear shocks without lowering. If so please list part # with length if you have them.
I checked factory replacement shocks which are made by Zf sachs Chrysler want 330$ to 550$each for replacements oucH
Now if you have replaced r shocks when lowered can someone measure them for length and travel and then compare the to the monroe info below

I can't help you with any measurement but, I can tell you that when I installed Konis on my 6, I noticed they also were nearly 2 inches longer than the oem shocks. I was assured by Koni that they would fit fine and there would be no bottoming out. I'm not lowered and I've had no issues whatsoever in 6 months on the Konis. Although, I do wish I'd taken photos and measurements for future reference.

Hey T,
I have been running on the KYBs on all corners for a couple of years now and couldn't be happier. I'm not lowered but several guys run them on lowered setups with no problems. You can read Lantana's comments about them here:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ew-shocks.html
KYB Gas-A-Just Monotubes - Front part# KG4731 and Rear part# KG4732
You can find them @ Rock Auto for around $55 ea. fronts & $63 ea. rears.
You may also still find them on Ebay, where I found mine.
Just search under the 2001 SLK320 to find them.
Also...Summit has them for $57.07 ea rears.

Re: Srt 6/ NA oem rear shock replacement are lowered info
Thanks guys, for the info. I must be doing something wrong! I installed using all the oem old mounts and it rides like a car with no springs and a very loud noise when crossing very small bumps in the road! I have installed many shocks and never had a problem! Danny
