Already have a price for the new TPMS? I've got an 04 and know this is around the corner if I dont disable or otherwise..
The organge TPMS would have been a good deal if they hadn't closed up US shop and sold to Japan..
Found these on Amazon is why I ask price.. And warning.. locate programming before purchase if you think this is a better deal! History doesn't need to repeat itself!
It looks like the 04 is 433 MHZ and other models are 315 MHZ
Edit for future reference.. programming tool information..

If they made 3,173 2005 cars I doubt the TPMS purchase order said 3,173 of that type.

DO YOUR RESEARCH. I bought some orange electronic ones, was a good adiea at the time, but they don't work even after numerous trips and attempts by both the dealer and discount tire. Go OEM and make someone responsible/liable for them, ie; don't buy them on-line and have someone else install them.

But they must be the correct Schrader part to jive with the cars receiver.

With the growing need for replacement sensors they are jumping into the market. Why would they sell you tires with fitted sensors in the rims and then tell you to go to the dealer when they could make more money with the whole package.
You just have to know what sensor you currently have and get one that is on the same frequency. The receiver in the car is waiting for the signal, it's dumb it will act on the signal and turn the light on if warranted.
Schrader made some of the TPMS sensors in our cars, they should know how to do it, these EZsensors are meant to replace the majority of the OEM sensors with just a few models. If the receiver does not work with the new sensors then the wrong part is in the wheels. The dealer is not wanting these new sensors as their ones cost twice the price and it is basically the same part.
You must buy the correct model of the EZsensor and it must be programed correctly.

Or with the proper tool.. read the ID of the individual TPMS sensors and with the EZ sensors you then program them to theses ID's.. They actually have a pad you set the new one on interfaced via usb to a computer.

I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to try to find a tire store that can pull the ID's from the sensors.. save that because when the sensor dies then the dealer will be the only way to get it reset to a new one.

This is not rocket science, lets face it, if it was hard the dealers could not do it.

I had all four sensors replaced when I got my new tires. I had to go to the dealer to have them programed. Went to Advantage Chrysler in Mount Dora, Fl. It took less than a minute to program all four. I also had the Transmission fluid and filter replaced. they also had to replace the wiring harness do to a fluid leak. The total cost was $419. I think that was fair. That dealer has a mech that does all the Crossfires and Vipers. He is very good.

Now this almost has me wondering if they don't have a "sleep mode" per say.. several times I've pulled in to the station.. added a splash of air because the monitor was lit.. and light would be out before ever pulling out again..
