Default Big Brake Upgrade

Over the last two days a lot of parts have arrived, 90% of them are used. A big thanks to Steve (guidance) and Rudy (parts).

I went from 300mm in the rear to 330mm, and 1 piston to 4. The fronts are a work in progress. The rears have only been mocked up for fitment. Install will take place once the fronts are fitted.

Color will be orange, like on my old Jeep. I love me some rice.

Here's how I'll be handling the 340mm rotors that cost a grand each. I'll have my $150 each 345mm rotors turned. Well, that's if I buy the 6 pots tomorrow.

Looks good so far, Im thinking of putting some bigger/slotted brakes on aswell for racing, do you know which Mercedes brakes are compatible? I know the c32 amg where and I think steve had the sl55 on his.

Once I finalize my setup, I'll have two sets of calipers for sale cheap. One set will work with the stock 330mm front caliper, but will be 4 piston - identical in appearance to the C32 AMG's. The second set will work with a 345mm caliper, just like the C32 - appearance and size.

Steve had the SLK55's on his car, as the SL's won't work.

I should have everything sorted out in a couple weeks. Productivity is hindered by the wife making me accompany her and my children on vacation.

What was the smallest rim steve could fit in the rear 18?
Ill defintely watch the progress and take some notes so I can decided what route I want to go, I know Ive seen sets of c32 complete for 600 but havnt looked at slk brakes yet

looks like you really did your homework, I'm subscribed. I would also like a parts list of fitments and how much you were able to piece together this brake upgrade for. Thanks

I'm kicking myself for not trying my drag setups last night when I had the brakes on. I'll test my 17's and 18's when I get home next weekend. I believe you're correct though, in 18's being the smallest that Steve found that worked.

As for a full C32 setup, I think the C32 rears are the same as the Stock SRT6. I paid $180 shipped for my 345mm rotors and around $175 for the 4 piston calipers. So IMHO, the C32 setup is overpriced at $600 if you installing it on a SRT6.

I will likely be selling both sets of the Brembo 4 piston (C32 style) 345 and 330 calipers if I work out a deal for the 6 pots. The 6 pots will work with the 345 rotors I bought, so I'll be keeping them. I may have them machined down 5mm, but from what I've read it's not mandatory. Apparently it's to remove a rust ring from the edge of the rotor (see below - photo and attachment).

After seeing that photoshoot, I think everyone on here is living vicariously through you. Who has time for brakes with a model wife?

Don't leave this guy out, lol. I may not be around here as much, but you still know how to get a hold of me.

Also, been meaning to get in touch with you about bouncing some strength training workouts off your brain.

Here's some of the stuff I need to get rid of when I return from vacation.

IMG_20130307_200106_310_zps911bea9f.jpg

- Brembo 4 piston 330mm Calipers
Work with the stock SRT6 rotors.
You'll need a few washers to center the calipers on your rotors.
I'd like to get $175 shipped.

- Brembo 4 piston 345mm Calipers
Work with the C32 rotors.
You'll need a few washers to center the calipers on your rotors.
I'd like to get $195 shipped.

I'll be selling the silver C55 rear caliper setup on ebay.
These work 330mm rotors, and require a few washers for centering, as well as bushings.
