Looks great! And, IMO... if you have an SRT, you can use any AMG labeling you want.

Silly question... Why not put the SRT logo on there. Wouldn't that make more since?

That's my plan when I finally get off my rear and install the C32 calipers. "SRT" has really embraced their brand as of late, and it's becoming a more widely known logo. The new 2014 Jeep has dropped the "8" and is simply labeled as an SRT (like the new Viper). MUCH cleaner.

So not only would it look good on the car, but it would be accurate. Win/win

For the record, I have been very nice in this thread, no bashing at all - I was just curious, as I am again.

I will ask Nick, the purist, if it is ok that I have Mercedes Benz on my calipers that come from Steve's wrecked SLK32? Just wondering where the line is drawn, not that I will change them (because they look amazing) I was just curius... again.

This is almost getting funny.. I must have missed that post when signing up for the forum of who draws any lines on what you can do to your car.

If I want to slap MOPAR across my windshield and buy HEMI badges for the fenders and rear.. guess what.. nobody is going to tell me I can't. Draw a line and I'll gladly do a burn out across it in respect for your opinion of MY car.

a) your burnout is going to suck because of your traction control

b) I'll buy you HEMI badges just to see it all happen

Sort of on topic..its the brake system anyway..um....when i was researching rotors in the forum, i found posts that indicated the "slots" on them were to be installed so they point forward. Not sure if it makes a big (any) difference in cleaning the pads, but the poster..(yep cant remember him looked at tons) seemed knowledgeable with lots of pics and info. What do i know right? Might wanna flip em if they do. I like the look of the calipers by the way.

2004 SSB 6spd Coupe and it freakin snowed AGAIN!...Gah!

The line is actually pretty broad and it has to do with taste, taste these days has gone out the window for many though and it shows.

On the 2002-2004 C32, they used one rotor for left and right applications. Therefore, the vanes point one way on the R/H side of the car, and the opposite on the L/H side. The central cooling vanes are consistent between the two, so it was a cost-savings measure for production.

Neither direction on the rotor surface is superior to the other... the grooves are only there for evacuation of gasses.

This has been a sore-spot for Crossfire owners since the point in history when we started getting shunned by both sides. While there are certainly Mopar shows that allow and encourage the Crossfire to enter, there are many that frown upon it because "it's really a Mercedes". Of course, the "All Euro" shows frown on the Crossfire because it's just a sh!tty Chrysler product. Nothing Euro about it! No pedigree!!

So which is it? It might be both, but it can't be neither. IMO "Mopar" badges are just as much of a false advertisement as the three-pointed star. My critique earlier was simply to make life easier for him... but if he doesn't mind explaining himself at every car show, have at it.

I will say that everything that has broken on my car had the Mercedes logo on it... take that for what it's worth.

Miata is right -- at the end of the day, it's your car so put whatever you want on it and tell everyone else what to kiss.

It's a lot like a mohawk -- if you have the ***** to put one on your head, far be it from me to offer to shave it. That doesn't mean you won't get jeers from the elders and other judgmental people. But you wear it because it's an expression of individualism. Tastefully done, and on the right person -- mohawks look badazz. But there are many, many others that simply can't pull it off... try as they might.

I can assure you guys, Nick doesn't lose any sleep over what someone does to their Crossfire. At the end of the day, he would much rather sip Scotch with fellow gearheads, regardless of their car's pedigree, than stand around with a bunch of pretentious people in matching jackets.

Many a rich ******* has gone to the grave lonely, only to discover that buying "elite" brands only burned his money faster -- it didn't buy acceptance. Buy what you can afford, enjoy what you buy, and let the "purists" ********** to their logos. Often it's their only enjoyment in life. Give them that victory.

I'm in the exact same boat.

I've had an energy drink per day for the last... oh... six years?

I'd never exceed one-per-day, but seldom missed a day. And I noticed the same thing... six hours, I'm good.

Due to persistent nagging from the wife, I stopped about two months ago. Now, I need eight hours a night and I'm still tired.

Give me back my magic chemicals!!!

DON'T DENY YOURSELF!

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission if caught..

What she don't know won't hurt her..

I'll edit if I think of more!

(Yeah I'm pushing for the $400 and vinyl wrap!) LOL.

not exactly john. drilled rotors evacuate the gasses , slotted rotors scrape the surface of the pads cleaning any abrasion or pad material that has glazed to allow full contact during braking.

btw the proper logo for the caliper covers would be ate. this is who built the caliper and doesnt offend either the m/b crowd or the mopar crowd because its accurate

Not to get into a pissing match, but by way of scraping, the gases that build up on that microscopic level are effectively evacuated at the same time. Drilled rotors are indeed more effective at evacuation, but tend to reduce surface area at a greater percentage than the slotted/dimpled rotors and don't provide nearly the "cleaning" effect of slotted rotors. Any deviation in the surface will allow evacuation to an extent. Remember, we're not talking cubic feet of air... more like CC's per lap

And to play off of your badge logic -- to be 100% accurate, ALL supplied components should simply bear the name of their suppliers. So, instead of the AMG logo in the speedometer, it should really read "VDO". Headlamps should all say "Visteon", and all chrome stick-on badges should simply have an "SRG Global" watermark across them.

All of the car brands in the world are assembled using components from mostly the same ~400 global suppliers. The suppliers simply add a logo to the mold, and tax accordingly. Should we discuss that time that Visteon told Porsche to wait because they had to feed parts to Nissan first since it was a larger contract? I was involved
