Default Autozone Rear Sway bar links

I had my passenger rear snap. It's two weeks old.

Anyone have a clue why? It didn't seem to angle up correctly when we bolted it up during shock install. I asked the tech what he thought, he said, not to worry.

What broke, was it steel or aluminum?

plastic portions between the upper link busing and sway bar bushing. Broke right in 1/2
