Yup, freeze to shrink, heat to expand.

chiseling a chunk out of your wheel hub....... priceless!

I do have the ***** to try this. If my car vibrates after, I will be sad! I'd rather just get a packed hub and bolt it on! I have bearings and seals already.

I see everything but the wheel cap.
I want to know if this slk320 packed hub is a cheap way to cheat.

Yes, it's a way to cheat, but I don't know about CHEAP !
The set of bearings and seal that speedy4x4 mentioned is only about $31 vs $172

All the parts in that area have 157K on them. Packing bearings isn't something I want to do if I can avoid it.

Don't know how you would chisel a chunk out of the hub, that is why I use a piece of hardwood, no scratches or burrs. And the temp difference using the freezer and oven makes the races go in easy.

Hand packing a bearing right is easy to do.

If you would rather buy a hub already done, no problem with that either.
Just have to slide it on and adjust the spindle nut.

Are you doing your rears also, with your 150 miles?
I am ordering all ball joints for the front this weekend, 100k moles and passenger lower has alittle play in it, found last night.
