Alignment agony
I have a 2004 crossfire. My wife parked on a side street in a small downtown area facing downhill. She parked with the wheels turned all the way to the right facing the curb. A driver hit the left Front tire and wheel. No body damage other than a broken side view mirror. The insurance company for the other driver insisted. I take the car to a Chrysler dealer for an estimate. They said I needed a new upper and lower control arm and knuckle. I replaced those parts. The knuckle I got used from eBay and I got aftermarket upper and lower control arms. I put it all back together and attempted to have an alignment done. The shop told me they could not get it back to factory specs. Does anyone have experience with this issue? I compared the aftermarket control arms to the parts are removed and could not tell any difference. Thanks in advance for any guidance. I think i’m just going to have to spend the money for factory parts. Oh, additional information, I ordered the aftermarket parts, using the part numbers on the control arms.
DON"T try to get parts from Chrysler. Lemforder and Febi are good after market parts and will work fine. Your car is basically a Mercedes 2003 SLK 320, so for those parts search as if it were a Mercedes. FCP Euro is a good place to get parts as they are warranted for life. If you get into the service manual you will find the spec measurements for the frame. You should look closely at the mounts of the lower control arm to see if they got twisted or the bushing bolt holes elongated. The upper control arm also may have gotten bent. The bolt that runs through the upper control mount to attach to the frame is only 10 or 12 mm, so quite small. It too may be bent. The steering rods could easily be bent.
You should have gotten a print out of the attempted alignment. What exactly could they not get into spec? If it isn't far off from spec you should be fine. How does it drive?
There are adjustment bushings for the lower control arm as well as inexpensive bolts that can adjust the caster and camber that are not expensive. The bolts are under $50.00 the bushings are more expensive and a job to install, while the bolts are much easier.
You can find more info by using the search box in the upper right corner of the forum and use the google option. Many of us have had to adjust the camber. From the factory the only adjustment possible is toe.
I have had to install most of the parts you are dealing with. It would be difficult if you live in an apartment as working outside on pavement makes the job much more difficult. Especially this time of year. Fortunately my shop has heating and A/C as well as a lift.
Without knowing exactly what is wrong/ out of alignment it is difficult to give more specific advice.
Keep track of your expenses and get the insurance company to pay!
PS. When doing the alignment, next time discount the front sway bar as it easily could have gotten bent and it could throw the alignment off. Then reconnect the sway bar and check again.

You can look up control arm adjustable camber bolts for Mercedes 99 to 2002 ,,, you want the bolts that have a grove in the threads and the washer has three points +2* /// -2* or in the middle factory setting. here is one i found.
